Now that's a product name that I haven't heard about in quite a while. Good chocolate syrup. Much better than the Hershey's stuff which sometimes has a grainy taste. Oh well, most good products never last. Team Flakes. Old Lucky Charms (before they added 5,000 new marshmallows). Tab. |

And, BTW, did anyone else think it was interesting that BRC used "she" in that post? Pehaps a name change to Bi-Curious Chick is in order? |

Question for medical (and not) types
Do any of you know anything about food allergy/avoidance diets? (Background: some folks think that some fat people are fat mostly because they eat foods to which they are allergic, and their body stores the food instead of processing it normally; cutting out those foods leads to weight loss).
Does anyone know whether this is good science or bunk? Str8. |

Question for medical (and not) types

Food allergies manifest themselves as swelling of the esophagus, puffiness in the face and extremities, occasionally rashes, sometimes racing heart - same as allergy to anything else. Reaction can be anywhere from mild to life threatening. It's onset can come suddenly and leave suddenly (meaning you can eat a food one night and suddenly become allergic to it the very next night - be allergic to it for years and then one day are not allergic to it anymore - but no way to tell until you risk your life eating whatever it was you were allergic to. That said, reaction to food allergies is NOT getting fat. Just the opposite - if you can't breathe, you can't eat - nuff said. |

I think that sort of diet you refer to isn't really an "allergy" diet, it's just that the person's body doesn't have the enzymes or other flora or fauna needed to break down the food, so it's wise to cut that food out of your diet. Some vegetarians lose the ability after a number of years to digest meat and get really sick when they try to eat it. They may then refer to having an 'allergy' to meat, when it's really a simple inability to process it. C(but the Medical College of BoraBora still hasn't mailed me my diploma, so don't take my word for any of the above)deuced |
