Why is it that "fat people are disgusting and gross" and "ugly people should die" are on monthly, or even weekly, rotation, but double-penetration is only on once a year at most?

Sox/Indians game, in the great Ohio Desert, called on account of fog. Sox ahead. Oil Can say something like the Indians deserved to lose because they put the stadium next to the ocean.

Well, he was last seen in the Sox bullpen in Game 7, when Johnny Mac brought in Al Nipper instead. Since then, he bounced around the minors for a while. I thought he had started managing, but this article says otherwise.

I love this - Johnny Depp is afraid of heights and clowns.

"Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp did a better job of acting in “Pirates of the Caribbean” than most viewers realize. “He’s terribly afraid of heights,” says a source familiar with film’s production. “In some scenes he had to overcome it, some scenes they just had to shoot around it and accommodate his fear.” Depp’s rep didn’t return calls for comment, but according to published reports, Depp also has a morbid fear of clowns. . . . "

And when is it OK to wear a velour tracksuit outside of the house?
I see this quite often now and I find it disturbing. I have never had the desire to wear a running suit to Safeway, unless I was running there. Why is this look so popular now?

"Jennifer Lopez was so thrilled to hear that Natalie Portman likes her clothes that she sent her loads of freebies including a nifty velour tracksuit, according to Heat magazine. . . . "
obligatory linkage don't miss the story of Paula Abdul who was sleepy (drunk) during an interview

A friend of mine has clown fear.

I didn't know this until I waved at a clown in the car next to us on the Bay Bridge. My friend, trapped between the clown car and the San Francisco Bay freaked out, yelling "YOU DON'T WAVE AT CLOWNS" at me while taking evasive action, speeding up and trying to put as much distance between us and the clown car. The clown, perhaps moved by my gesture of greeting, perhaps amused at my friend's reaction, followed us on almost to Albany. We lost him somewhere around the Gilman exit.

This is bizarre. I don't get it. I have a friend who has a morbid fear of harlquins. Clowns just freak her out. But she can't even look at the "evil harlequins" she says they're the devil. I asked her why just the guys with the patterned outfits. She doesn't know - she's just freaked out by them.

This is my friend's defense of his actions after the clown-waving incident:
Quote:

In my own defense, let me just say that I am very good at driving recklessly and with a flagrant disregard for posted speed limits and was in complete, perfect control the entire time.

That and...IT WAS A FRICKIN' CLOWN!!! What did you want me to do - Let it follow us home and murder us in our sleep? 'cause that's what they can do, you know. Clowns. Oh, sure - no doubt moooooost of them are safe. Mooooost of the time, juggling hand-grenades is probably safe enough, too. But merrily waving at strange clown weaving in traffic in a terrifyingly decrepit clown-car is just asking for trouble. And let me tell you this my friends - this was no jet-setting clown - this was an embittered, seedy, alcoholic, pill-popping, serial-killer clown, if I ever saw one.

Frankly, I think all that were present at that...incident...owe me a debt of gratitude. Yessir, gratitude. I look after my own, I do.

There must be different versions of this one, because when first I got the game last week, more often than not my hits were over 450 (with a high of 595). I'm calling that the Colorado version; this is more like the left-field-in-Yankee-Stadium version
