The original joke, apparently.

Oh, well.

Giving Blood and Exercising

Speaking of giving blood, while driving home the other day I heard on NPR about a particular cattle industry practice that turned my stomach and made me swear off beef forever. I won't even mention it here, because RP might be eating. I was firmly resolved: me no eat-a the cow.

Literally minutes later, I saw I was passing an In-N-Out, so I pulled over for a Double-Double. I did this even though I was headed home for dinner. I immediately stopped feeling sorry for the calves, and started feeling sorry for vegetarians and people who don't live in California.

Also, have I mentioned the thing about using a carne asada burrito as a straw? Good times, good times.

I was told that a good rule of thumb is that if you do not have to lie on more than 5 of those, it is probably O.K.

Thanks, I'm better now. Although I have a "w" key embedded in my temple.

Now, Atticus, what were you saying about that beef? Lunch is over. I had chicken pot chicken pot chicken pot pie.

I'm looking at the placement of those keys on a standard QWERTY keyboard, and I'm thinking that your face must be really oddly-shaped. And rather pointy.

There are many things that, from time to time, I miss about California. None more, however, than In-N-Out. I so want a double-double right now.

Music Review for a Thurday

Scroll if not a Lou Reed/John Cale fan ----->

Interesting CD released tuesday of the one-off 1972 Club reunion of Lou Reed, John Cale and Nico called "Bataclan 72"

Very sparse and haunting - offering a striking contrast to Reed's recent relase "Transformer" and the year after's "Rock and Roll Animal". Cale's pop sensibilities on full display in his three tunes. And Nico - who was apparently dating Iggy at the time - sounds ever more like a ghost.

Great stuff for a limited audience.

That cow you ate:

Had it visited or lived in the United Kingdom for a total of three months from 1980 through 1996 ?

Resided in U.S. military bases in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, or the United Kingdom for a total of six months from 1980 to 1990?

Had sex in the last 12 months (even once) with a male or female prostitute?

Two things

Hello my grasshoppers. I have a question and an announcement.

1) I was watching the news this morning and there wa a story about a truckful of 500 pigs on their way "to market" that somehow overturned and there were cute little pigs everywhere. Were they going to do their grocery shopping or does "market" refer to something a little more sinister? if its the latter, what is the news doind a little cute jolly animal piece on cute jolly animals who are about to be murdered violently en masse? that is seriously disturbing shit. especially when you recall that pigs have the intelligence of dogs and they might as well show 500 dogs get murdered. sick.

2) I got engaged last night.
