Every once in awhile I can be on topic.

This will be my next swatch.

(This is my current swatch. I like it quite a bit.)

Love it. But I'm in no hurry to change my current one.

You're baiting me...and it's working. He was 6'5" 260 coming our of college. Played tight end at Auburn.

I like the metal ones

But I think I'm missing the point perhaps seeing as these look like fossil and every other watch

When I was in college, my roommate swiped my all black on black Swatch. I haven't had one since.

Although, as you learned this weekend, I wore several watches at once... and even sometimes a bandana on my wrist. Much to the chagrin of a certain yeti.

I will confess that this one has also caught my eye.

Because you like the Ipod ads?

That said, the Casio that I used to wear for outdoor activities has finally died. It was the one I won for free at the Chicago CES at the David Robinson hoop shoot.

How long does the battery run in the Swatch. My Casio had to be at least 10 years old.

I get your point about the subtle distinctions of authenticity in hip hop, though I doubt most 13 year-old suburban white kids do.

I agree that JT has heard a lot of Michael Jackson and is JT's primary influence. My analogies were between white artists working in black idioms. One set was steeped in it, the others were purely exploiting a trend to make it palatable to whites. Of course, Janet Jackson can sound a lot like Michael when she chooses. JT does a better job incorporating hip hop into his tracks than Michael does. In fact, I'd say rappers and producers want to work with JT more than they want to work with Michael.

One thing interesting about both The Wire and H:LOTS is that they both had diverse casts (read: black actors playing cops instead of merely criminals). But the Baltimore Homicide Squad that David Simon profiled in his book back in the 80s was nearly entirely male and white. The creators made conscious decisions to make the police force in both shows more integrated than in real life.

I thought everyone thought Bonds was using because he had a large head relative to his body. Now having a small head relative to your body means you're using too?

How About Pussy University?

  • ARCADIA MAKES IT INTO POP CULTURE FAME AND IS NAMED AS ONE OF THE TOP PLACES TO WORK IN PHILADELPHIA

GLENSIDE-Arcadia University has become part of pop culture history after being included as a question in the 20th anniversary edition of Trivial Pursuit. The question, in the news category, is: What Pennsylvania institution changed its name to Arcadia University in 2001, after web filters began blocking its old moniker? The answer, of course, is Beaver College.

I think that is a counter-indicator of steroids. See Barry Bonds' head.

My 1996 Timex Ironman continues to click along. Probably helps that I don't actually use any of the features.

Well, mainly because, as the person I first showed the watch to said, it's classy and subtle. Just like me.

Mine have lasted anywhere from three to five years, but they're fairly straightforward to replace once they die.

If I buy an Ipod

To replace my mini. Is the VIDEO worth it? Or just go with 20 Gig or 40 Gig and call it a wrap?
