I don't think Gary Danko is overrated, but they have stuck with the same menu for far too long. Slanted Door is way too fashionable of late, and way too loud. If your clients are 30-something semi-hipsters, maybe. Otherwise, not. Bacar I have not been too in ages, so can't help. Michael Mina is very, very precious. That said, the food is good and it would probably be a good place to take clients. You can laugh at the waiters who talk about "Michael" and how "Michael conceives of this" and "Michael says that" as if they are repeating to you what Michael leaned down to whisper to them while they were blowing him in the kitchen. |
Restaurant Questions
Gary Danko - excellent - one of 9 four-star restaurants in SF, but very very pricey. Slanted Door, best high-end Vietnamese in town. Wonderful location in the Ferry Building on the bay. Hard to get reservations. Bacar - I haven't had the food - only wine, but have heard that it is good, but overpriced. Phenomenal wine list, though. Michael Mina- haven't been. Don't be an idiot. If she wanted anonymous reviews from internet posters, she wouldn't be asking here. |

Oh, don't be such a whiner. You probably managed to pick up another 100 pounds of venison on the way home. I am prepared, by the way, to host the next game later this month, as Mrs. Finch and the Siddlings will be out of town. Takers? |
