Yes, clearly he is a Cubs fan, b/c most other teams' fans would know better. This is why when you were at Wrigley the past two years you were never surprised to hear "why isn't Mark Grace playing today?". Don't get me wrong, Wrigley is a great place to get drunk and it's like a singles bar in the bleachers, but it seems that a lot of fans lack proper knowledge of the game.

Not being a Cubs fan, that game still left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. I think subconciously I'm rooting for them, but I won't say it IRL. What an awful way to lose. Alex Gonzalez is the true culprit, and Prior made some bad pitches, but that fan will be the scapegoat.

Absolutely. But as uncivilized as Fenway fans are, they do know better than to get in the way of their own players. If it's a Yankee, though, the outfielder probably loses an arm.

But how did this guy ruin it for the cubs? If he catches it, there's two outs instead of one. The Marlins had already tied it before making the second (which would have been the third) out.

Every player in a Cub uniform today is trying to figure out how not to lose tonight. Every one is thinking "curse" not stepping on cracks in the sidewalk, saying "bread and butter" and looking for his underwear from his last win. Not one slept last night. Not one expects to win tonight.

I predict Florida -- with no curse and nothing to lose -- comes out early and gets to Wood making this an 11-0 laugher.

It's interesting. All the news reports say that the fan is 26 years old, but they're not naming names. I imagine they're waiting for him to get everything straightened out with the witness protection program first.

You're not thinking like a deranged baseball fan who hasn't won anything for almost a century, are you? For shame.

First of all, momentum swings if Moises makes that catch. Instead of having one on and two outs, their pitcher is distracted, walks the batter on a wild pitch and the runner moves into scoring position. Then they start getting nervous and the Marlins gain confidence with every hit (or Cubs error as the case may be).

Second of all, should they have tied the game and gotten out of the inning, there is no question (in their minds) that they would have scored in the bottom of the ninth for a dramatic, Pennant-clinching win.
