(sorry -- that line always cracked me up)

And the fine musical group Pure Prairie League had absolutely nothing to do with that dreck "Looking for Love (In All the Wrong Places)" from the Urban Cowboy soundtrack.

Jesus, people.
Why did this make the line "I've been to paradise but I've never been to me" jump into my head.

Damn you, Not Bob. Damn you to hell.

Fucktabulous. Now I have Rhinestone Cowboy going through my head. The one line I know. Over and over and over again.
the lookin' for love song. It's all coming back to me now. Mickey Gilley was the guest star and he sang it. (I don't even know who that is - it's like I've become a channel for some medium from beyond who is intent on transmitting details of bad tv shows to you all. If I start doing this with TJ Hooker, please feel free to punch me).

God, I remember that song from an episode of the Fall Guy. I can't believe I just remembered that (and that I watched the Fall Guy).
The Urban Cowboy Soundtrack was the first album I ever owned. I think it was mandatory for everyone in Houston in 1980 to memorize it. Devil Went Down to Georgia, Darlin', Lyin' Eyes, Fallin' in Love for the Night, Lookin' for Love. All songs that I knew by heart by the time I was 8 years old, and I still like them now. I did notice a couple of years ago that Johnny Lee, of Lookin' For Love fame, was the featured performer at the Kuntry Kitchen in Conroe. I was shocked he was still alive. They were charging a six dollar cover, which I thought was pretty steep.

It was also mandatory to own a Gilley's bumpersticker or tee-shirt. Ours was right next to the "If you don't have an oil well, get one" bumpersticker. The early 80s in Houston were a little crazy.

Hope for the childless spinsters?

I can't imagine anything more depressing than being 59 and pregnant except being 59, a great-grandmother, and pregnant with twins. These children will have great-nieces and nephews older than they are.

59 - Year - Old Set to Give Birth to Twins
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 11:05 p.m. ET

SYLVESTER, Ga. (AP) -- A 59-year-old great-grandmother is pregnant with twins and will deliver next month, three decades after she had her tubes tied. ``They came untied,'' Frances Harris said Thursday.

The multiple birth Dec. 21 would break the purported record set this week by a 56-year-old New York City mother of twins.

Harris, of rural Sylvester, Ga., said she wasn't trying to get pregnant -- and didn't realize she was -- until she started gaining weight and went to see her doctor.

``A lot of things changed about me,'' she said. ``I started craving grapes and apples, things I don't usually crave. By then I was four months pregnant.''

When the doctor broke the news, ``They had to sit me down. I couldn't even talk,'' she said.

The news was even more shocking considering Harris -- the mother of five, grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of six -- had her tubes tied 33 years ago after the birth of her youngest child.

Harris had her first child when she was 15; 44 years will separate her first-born from the newborns. She was divorced years ago from the twins' father, 60-year-old Raymond Harris, a heavy equipment operator. She said they will remarry before the birth.

So was grandpa going back to the well, or is he just trying to make an "honest" woman of her?

And is she a "G-GILF"?

Uh, no. You'll have to do more than phone in a "Sebby makes my skin crawl" to get a flame.

Could be worse... at least you didn't have to shake hands with the priest.

No, sebby -- you are the cat who merely annoys fringey. Taxwonk is the cat who makes her skin crawl.

I am so sorry, my dear. I had no idear that the theme song to the Fall Guy, sung by Lee Majors hisself, would have that effect on you.

It was a sad day in Podunkville, indeed. Big Earl (Big Ed's brother) almost lost his county commission seat to a television weatherman turned preacher named Sonny Daye.

Hi!

I have not scrolled to the end of this thread yet, but have you two kissed and made up yet? I hope not! I'm really enjoying reading extremely detailed and nuanced posts with citations to and excerpts from other extremely detailed and nuanced posts about how each of you thinks that you were misunderstood by the other and therefore thinks the other is a bitch/jackass.
