I have this show on Season Pass, but I doubt I'll last the year with it. I don't understand how Sorkin will have enough material to avoid recycling plots from Sports Night.

Sorkin used to date Kristin Chenoweth, who is well-known for being a devout Christian in the entertainment industry. Kristin also released a gospel album some time back. Here is a picture of her looking godly.

So I think he'll try to bring a nuanced view of the character, but the show's got larger problems already. First, how on earth does that cold open go anywhere? I barely got the Thoroughly Modern Millie reference. How are teenagers not in the drama club going to get it? Remember the demographic that goes to movies and finances the show (within a show)?

How many times do I have to say this? Posts like these that would be of interest to the people on the politics board should be posted simultaneously on both boards.

Hypothetical question

Assume one wanted to sell two tickets for the first NLDS game in NY. What would be the best method to sell these tickets to maximize one's profit?

I am not going to answer this question, and here's why. I had four tickets to a sporting event this weekend, and only needed three. Face value of $40 each. I got there not too early, and sold the spare ticket for $15, and was happy to have unloaded it. When this guy comes and sits down next to us, I asked him what he paid for it. $70. Bummer.

ebay or starhub. Look out for NY's anti-scalping law. For venues with over 6,000 seats, I heard there's a limit of a 45% cap on mark-ups. But if you're not a NY resident, the cap may not apply, but some other state's may.

Answer is that if one lives in NY, both online auctions apply the NY state limit.

So I guess plain old standing in front the stadium will have to do.

I like the Bonnie and Clyde suggestion. What about ...

Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor
Mike Nichols and Diane Sawyer (you can pull off the haughtiness, I'm sure) (and it depends on the crowd -- will they know who Mike Nichols is, let alone that he's Diane's hubby?)
Sam and Diane
Nick and Carla
Frasier and Lilith/Niles
Angel/Spike and Buffy
Westley/Humperdinck and Buttercup
Yogi and Boo Boo
So many good suggestions! I am laughing over the Buffy ones - I had the biggest crush on David Boreanaz (hmm, still do, I think), but my date's blond so more like Spike. Unfortunately (and this is a big neg for him) he's not familiar with the show. And is slightly unnerved by my tendency to go for dark-haired types.

GGG, I love your suggestions. Then again having to tell the whole myth 5000 times a night to drunk people with limited attention spans isn't that fun, either. Besides, my costume needs to be skimpy.

Bonnie and Clyde might be easy in terms of finding costume stuff, and it's kind of hot. Or maybe go lit with Zelda and F. Scott...may not be skimpy, but I always like a good flapper dress - and extra bonus - finally would get to try out a dark bobbed wig.

Oh, that might work, especially (for this party) if I'm carrying around huge vaginal flower pictures as my prop.*

Sexy.
No, no, no. You have to go with the flow. And actually, it's not the speeding up that's the problem. It's the rapid slow down/change up at certain moments. No matter. A good "get back in there now!" (or sometimes with a "please please please") usually gets things back on course.

Considered, and I was for it, but I sensed a lack of enthusiasm. He just hasn't seen me in that costume yet, I think is the problem.

Mmmm, a party where some people are doing very adult things. I have pictures if you would like.

I'd say that he got by far the worse end of the deal.

Really? I was serious -- I thought that Penske's Jeannie and Major Nelson suggestion was an inspired one. The boyfriend's tepid reaction tends to make one question his judgment.

Penske only likes those sorts of pictures if they involve photoshopping of Hillary Clinton -- don't ask, don't tell.

Stubhub?

A friend made a nice little profit on Game 1 of the World Series last year using it.
