It's not really a flame if it's based on concern for your welfare, is it? I mean, look at the guy:

In other TV news, I think str8 outta wherever recommended Boomtown to the board. Last night's episode was worth watching. Deputy DA gets drunk, drives around, blacks out, then thinks he might be responsible for a hit-and-run death.

MBA (the show)

You know, I completely forgot about the audience voting part.

MbA has to be the most bizarre reality tv show ever. In the past, people have accused shows from stealing ideas from each other, but I have never seen a show assemble a melange of elements so randomly and seemingly by whim from week to week.

That said, the ads make tonight's episode look very intriguing with last-second dust-ups, so I cannot wait.

I am not ashamed (although my tivo has started recording shows like "Ed" and "Dismissed" ever since I got a season's pass for MBA so maybe I should be ashamed). Jill and Kevin will win the money/car/house. I give the marriage one year, if that.

I would be shocked if Tony went through with this, but Fox is editing it so that I will be shocked if he goes through with it, so there's a good chance that he WILL go through with it b/c Fox likes to fuck with us that way.

Did that film win an Oscar for best makeup? Whoever it was worked wonders to make ol' George look so pallid.

As for the Brits carrying on the tradition the Americans created in the 50s and 60s, I suggest you take a look at Sexy Beast, Essex Boys, and The Croupier. For examples from the 70s, Try The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, the Ipcress File, and The Italian Job
Thanks for suggesting my namesake. Mike Hodges directed both Get Carter and Croupier. I saw Sexy Beast again over the weekend and was reminded of how good it was.

In today's political climate, praising the French is risky, but any discussion of film noir should include them. Rialto Pictures is remastering many classics for DVD and showing a few at rep houses. Le Cercle Rouge and Quai des Ofrevres are playing at rep houses now. Rififi, Pepe Le Moko, The Third Man, and Bob le Flambeur are out on DVD. The Good Thief is a remake of Bob le Flambeur with Nick Nolte in the title role.

I am a brit noir fan, but I thought Sexy Beast was just meh. The actors were wonderful, especially Kingsley, but the movie felt so empty.

Isn't Marky Mark starring in a remake of the Italian Job? That annoys me - I think they will fuck it up like they fucked up the remake of Charade. No offense to Marky but I wish sometimes they would let old good movies be.

That's nothing. Ben and J-Lo are remaking Casablanca.

Good for them. The original was so bleh.

And no, I don't read regularly teenhollywood.com. It just came up in a random "teen" google search.

This is not a dirty web site. Well, it is not an explicit web site. It is an advertisement for an accessory to your phone.

That particular admission is far scarier than the thought you normally read teenhollywood.com

Best SNL quote this week - the remake is for people who basically liked the original, but wished it had been crappy.

If it's a Jerry Bruckheimer production, I'm going to scream.

Glad it's coming back. I love watching George extolling the virtues of being a millionaire to the up-and-coming proles.
Reason no. 1000127 why it's awesome to live in Los Angeles:

George Hamilton's baby-mamma used to live in my apartment. Not in the building -- the actual apartment. George was a frequent visitor, showing his shorty much love. Or so I hear.

You mean, kinda like the original, but with a lot more shooting?

I'm surprised I haven't seen that on Graham Norton yet.
