Question for the libertarians

If you have absolutely no employment and no unemployment compensation, it's not comparative poverty, babydoll. It's no money at all. So I'm assuming you are stealing food, at least. And probably are camped out on someone else's private property, interfering with their all-important property rights.

ETA shot? raped? mugged? Geez, you are violent today. I meant, stealing food and camping on private property. Or is taking the rightful property of another OK? I thought that was communism??

I dunno. It seems a little more icky. Fucking, let alone blowing, an old stinky unshowered man is way grosser than cleaning a sewer in appropriate protective clothing.
Oh, dearest. Don't you worry! The mandatory minimum wage would make you unfit to fill the job.

Watching the libertarians find out what it's really like to be poor and have no choices and no protection of society? No. But I think s/he'd sympathize.

Aside from living with friends and relatives for months at a time and eating their food and borrowing money during times of extended parental non-employment, I don't remember any of this stealing shit of which you speak. Wish I would have known back then that there was a direct cause-and-effect relationship. We could've lived a lot nicer.

Assume no friends or family -- after all not all of us have family, and some people run out of solvent friends after a while. Where are you getting your food/shelter?

ETA I am oot, at least briefly, because some Canadian is aboot to boot me in the ass if I don't finish commenting on something toot sweet. So failure to reply is not lack of an answer.

I'm going to use that excuse next time I misspell something, which should be soon given my track record.

Since you're being a timmy, go back and change "its" to "it's" on your previous post. For the longest time, I thought you were talking about W or Fox News or something.

Confidential to club: This only works if the spelling you are not a fan of is a disfavored spelling and/or does not appear in, say, dictionaries.

I can't figure out if he's talking about Tori or Aaron.

Toss-up. I'm guessing Tori says "cum", while Aaron would use the less cutting-edge "come".

Super Bowl - a look back

The Smoking Gun has collected some of the more interesting complaints about last year's Super Bowl halftime show. Good stuff.

How did #8 forget to include Fox?

A blast from the past.

From the September 3, 1967, New York Times:
  • U.S. Encouraged by Vietnam Vote
Officials Cite 83% Turnout Despite Vietcong Terror

by Peter Grose, Special to the New York Times

WASHINGTON, Sept. 3-- United States officials were surprised and heartened today at the size of turnout in South Vietnam's presidential election despite a Vietcong terrorist campaign to disrupt the voting.

According to reports from Saigon, 83 per cent of the 5.85 million registered voters cast their ballots yesterday. Many of them risked reprisals threatened by the Vietcong.

....A successful election has long been seen as the keystone in President Johnson's policy of encouraging the growth of constitutional processes in South Vietnam. The election was the culmination of a constitutional development that began in January, 1966, to which President Johnson gave his personal commitment when he met Premier Ky and General Thieu, the chief of state, in Honolulu in February.

The purpose of the voting was to give legitimacy to the Saigon Government, which has been founded only on coups and power plays since November, 1963, when President Ngo Dinh Deim was overthrown by a military junta.
