This Fall's lineup

Another stupid lawyer show....

Alicia Silverstone’s dramedy “Miss Match,” in which she plays a divorce lawyer with a talent for matchmaking. The hamfistedly “ironic” premise aside, the future of “Miss Match” is anyone’s call; Silverstone has kept a relatively low profile since “Batman & Robin”

More stupid shows....
Speaking of show types that haven’t fared well of late, David E. Kelley is trying to reverse his current fortunes with “The Brotherhood of Poland, N.H.” After the humiliatingly prompt sacking of “girls club” last year and violent cast shake-ups at “The Practice,” Kelley needs a breakout to go with the modestly thriving “Boston Public.”

It’s hard to predict whether movie-star power will translate into boob-tube triumph. But it’s not a stretch to expect that Whoopi Goldberg’s upcoming sitcom, cleverly titled “Whoopi,” is going to flop.

So I signaled for her, ignored the first exit and took the second exit to be sure she was following, got off that main street into a little neighborhood, got off the neighborhood's main street onto about the third side street I came to...

and pulled up in front of the house of the woman who hit me. Good thing, too, because she didn't have her insurance information in the car and needed to go inside to get it.

I have these from time to time (mostly the usual stuff - picking up the phone before it rings to discover the person you were going to call is on the line, that sort), but that's the most over-the-top odd one. My sister was with me and she totally freaked her shit.
Holy shit. How big was the city you were driving in?

Sting now confesses that he "sexed up" tales of his stamina to impress Bob Geldof.* Turns out, the whole eight-hour tantric thing was total bullshit.

*This alone is just about the saddest motherfucking thing I've ever read.

Somewhat on topic, I read somewhere that costuming for the show was really difficult because, as a dedicated Vegan and PETA sort, she refused to wear any fur or leather. The costumers went berzerk, apparently, until she confessed that she would wear vintage fur and leather, because it wasn't contributing to ongoing animal cruelty.

Other vegan/PETA types out there: is that legit or bullshit?

I vote "bullshit," but I'm perfectly willing to use the excuse myself when asked by the squeamish about any leather or other dead animal parts I happen to be wearing. Anything made last season is officially designated "vintage" in such cases.

BR(Actually, that's not true. It never occurred to me to wear fur until PETA's methods & statements started really, really pissing me off a few years ago; now I wear it, and look damn good, just to undermine their cause and hopefully piss off their members. Now if the squeamish ask me I tend to explain exactly that in the hopes it will make them think twice about where they send their money)C

Didn't a girlfriend testify to having sex with Willie Nelson for 9 hours?

Willie, it's time to get Georgia OFF your mind and pay attention to the fucking...

Sorry, guys. This was in my Hotmail account and I can't afford any more bad karma.

I received this link http://www.despair.com/ bin my personal email account from someone with a usdoj.gov email address. Momentarily freaked my shit. The site's pretty funny, though.

How does that happen? Is that just viagra gone beserk or something? I cannot imagine having sex for nine hours. Did they have food and drink within arms-reach? I would most definitely have to pee at some point during those nine hours.

Everyone draws the line somewhere. As a former ovo-lacto veggie with family members who were macrobiotic and others who were vegan, some kosher, some not, I'll tell you that I'm just happy everyone has drawn their own lines (as you can tell, a non-PETA position).

I take neither interest in nor responsibility for Ms. Silverstone's lines. Her curves are another matter.

Absolute and total bullshit. I explain to people who are squeamish about the leather sofa, leather upholstered car, leather shoes, leather purse and leather watchband, that that cow was going to die anyway.

That said, I knew a PETA radical in law school, and she wouldn't even consider wearing vintage fur or leather on her dead body. It is all cruelty in the rules book.

In fact some idiot wore a full length fur coat to law school one day (yeah, totally appropriate) and we had to physically restrain PETA person from lunging at her jugular.

Vintage. HA. Nice try.

So I guess the 80's song "Up All Night" by Geldof's band the Boomtown Rats was really about an insomniac rather than Gordon's little Stinger...

To momentarily defend the lines of the woman in whose lines I have no interest, isn't the vintage argument akin to the arguments about antique ivory versus recent ivory? So there is some logic.

Alicia, ya owe me one.
