Judging by RP's sig, I'm guessing she's intimately familiar with them too.

I like swings too. But not the sex kind, just the plain, ordinary swings. Tire swings are nice, but sometimes, if I spin around too much, they make me feel sick.

What is your favorite piece of playground equipment? For me it is a tie between the that little gate that swings 360 degrees and the cement pipe that is large enough for late middle school/early junior high kids to make out in.
That waist high bar that only the girls used that you could hook a leg around and somersault over and over on at a hundred miles an hour. One, a fantastic head rush, two, it allowed me to kick that 3rd-grade bitch that picked on my brother incredibly hard in the stomach as she passed by without getting in trouble with the principal because it was an 'accident'.

Wonkette (no, the other one) posted an excerpt of Lynne Cheney's Sisters, a pulpy paperback she wrote in the mid-'80s.

Link.

The great thing about it is that I can't tell which of these Amazon reader reviews are facetious.

Either this woman's got an enormous secret closet full of turbo-charged sex toys and Catwoman latex S&M-wear and a stable of nubile boy-toys, or she's the most disastrously lousy lay in the history of humankind.

You're so right. That second one is really borderline.

Boy toys? Read it again.

Edited because somebody called me a bubble burster, which, I think, is the opposite of a man pleaser, which would make me, apparently, Lynne Cheney.

This would be a Not Recommendation for bnb.

WTF is it with Republican politicians and bizarro books? (See e.g. Newt Gingrich). The bipartisan* spy novels that Gary Hart and William Cohen co-wrote may not have been great, but still.

Personally, I blame Ayn Rand.

*they were written when Hart was a Demoratic senator and Cohen was a Republican senator. Edited because I was Not Clear.

I don't think it matters. The reviews are better than most books I've seen recently.

Which I think helps prove that things can be both amusing and ironic at the same time.

I liked the one that said "Never before has a political satire used the mysteries of female sexuality to such elaborate ends . . . ." Puh-lease. I mean, do they no longer require Antigone at Yale?
