Well, I could see why he'd hold onto that idiot misconception. For fashion freaks, double vents are the only vents.

But fashion freaks don't dictate what makes a good suit.

I looked at the Hickey's on my spree. I like their (his?) suits, but I wasn't shopping for suits and I didn't like the sportcoats. Too boring.

Sadly, the one Hickey suit I own (other than my tux) was cursed because the first two times I wore it I had Bad Days in court. I don't wear suits often -- generally, only when I go talk to a judge, or very rarely a client -- and, given the curse, I of course could not wear that suit to any court events of high importance. So it took me like two years to rehabilitate the sucker. Though recently I wore it to a mediation that brought to a successful conclusion a case of great personal significance to me (which, incidentally, was likely the Single Best GA Referral Ever. All blessings to C-Deuced).

It still has a bit of a karmic stain, but I think it is nearly fully cleansed.

Have these people no respect for the lonely and bored business traveller, stuck in a dull town with no GAs and no titty bars?

At a guess, this is in part a response to the defense tactic in obscenity cases. Obscenity is defined based on community standards, and prosecutors pick their jurisdiction thinking that the standards in a particular community are more likely to cast porn as "obscene." I believe, but am not certain, that decisions regarding internet porn essentially give any county jurisdiction to bring such charges (assuming they can find and bring in the defendant).

If you were a prosecutor trying to prove a porn movie obscene -- that it was beyond community standards of mere porn -- you'd probably choose to bring that claim in some community other than, say, San Francisco or NY or Vegas.

But then some defense lawyers recognized that, in pretty much any city with a chain hotel, people were watching all kinds of porn. And it was being purveyed by some of the biggest companies in the US - the cable and hotel companies involved. And when you can show that 7000 people watched Gang-Bang Zombies in your community last month, the pictures of Not Me licking whipped cream off of ppnyc's breasts that I was selling suddenly seem not so bad. Nauseating, yes, but obscene, no.

So now they want to crack down on the hotels, too. Fuckers.
Still not as bad as my buddy who was away on business, whose wife got a call in the middle of the night from Citibank trying to confirm a number of late night charges.

When he flew home, the first question she asked him was "What is the Mitchell Brothers theater"????

It's totally subjective, andI am not arguing right or wrong, but on the couple of custom pieces I have, I thought the real buttonholes looked good.

Hmmm. I may consider it next time, if they actually look better. The salesguy did a shitty job of showing them.

That said, I'm not sure that I'll be feeling that flush again anytime soon.

Damn man... I ain't running my mouth off at you any time soon. How come you took all that shit from those douchebags at your last joint? You should have snapped some necks and dug some nerd holes in your backyard.

Correct. Which suggests that your story that he trashed RP's looks is bullshit.

Sorry I didn't connect the dots for you. Next time, I'll type more slowly so you can keep up.

Seriously, you should listen to Gwink's advice.

I know that this falls on deaf ears. But you really should consider getting some help.

I am not kidding about this. At the very least, you might show your husband this thread and ask if he thinks you should get some counseling for your self-esteem issues. (But, please -- accept his first answer, don't berate him until he gives you the one you want.)

How about me, reviewing the Visa bill with Mrs. Finch nearby, and suddenly bursting out with "what the hell is CP Station in Las Vegas?" And then "a charge at 3:30 am?"

CP = Club Paradise. Word to the wise.

(Fortunately, Mrs. Finch doesn't give a shit about that sort of thing.)
