If that was your point, you should have said so.

I have never met Kerry, but I know people who have (including one reasonably good friend (and potential ambassador)) who sincerely like the man and want him to be President.

Are you checking at the Kerry rallies or the Bush rallies?

Those who give a shit about keeping up appearances say they follow the church, but they don't. When their daughters get knocked up, almost all Catholics get pro-choice real quick.
Yup.

As I think I've said before, those who are in favor of allowing abortion, but with restrictions, believe that abortion should be available in cases of (1) rape (2) incest and (3) them.

This guy checked both, repeatedly.

Says, Bushies are actively and affirmatively FOR Bush.

Kerryites are actively and affirmatively for . . . . um . . . . getting rid of Bush.

Cool. I've always been an atheist, because I figured that, to be religious, you'd have to believe in a god and all that, and follow some religion's rules and teachings. So, it's all pretty much optional? This is sounding easier.

Flip-flop Flip-flop Flip-flop Flip-flop

The steadfast, unwavering leadership of GWB will put the Iranians in their place and show them the stick, NOT the carrot, to make them come around. Appeasement of commies and dictators is solely the province of Clintonite and Kerrian pussies.

... until after the election, that is.

Quote:

The Bush administration is holding talks with its European allies on a possible package of economic incentives for Iran, including access to imported nuclear fuel, in return for suspension of uranium enrichment activities that are suspected to be part of a nuclear arms program, European and American diplomats said Monday.

The diplomats said that while the administration had not endorsed any incentives for Iran, it was not discouraging Britain, France and Germany from assembling a package that the administration would consider after the American presidential election on Nov. 2, for likely presentation to Tehran later in the month.

Any support of a package of incentives, even if it is to be offered only by the Europeans, would indicate a significant shift in the Bush administration policy of demanding penalties, but not offering inducements, to get Iran to halt activities that are suspected to be for a nuclear arms program.

European diplomats said that the administration was very squeamish about even discussing incentives, in part because it would represent a policy reversal that would provoke a vigorous internal debate, and in part because of the presidential campaign. Senator John Kerry, the Democratic candidate, has made Iran an issue, criticizing the administration for not working more closely with European nations. Mr. Kerry has said that if elected he would endorse a deal supplying Iran with civilian nuclear fuel under tight restrictions and would press for sanctions if Iran refused.

So with all these conservatives so wildly for Bush, could you explain to me again why you're so enthusiastically backing a man who has added 800,000 government sector jobs over the last four years, moved us back into deficit spending, and failed to fund his most significant legislative initiative? Why, Bilmore, Why?

And, moreover, why doesn't Bush choose then to run on his record and policies, instead of just repeating, over and over, Iraq/Flip Flop; Iraq/ Flip Flop?

Why, Bilmore, Why?

The fastest way to shut up a pro-lifer is to ask him or her if he/she is willing to pay the cost attendant to raising the child through college. I've never seen so much sudden and debilitating larengitis hit the assembeled members of a group all at once.

My favorite pro-lifer position is "Well, its all about personal responsibility." This nifty comeback begs the question, "Do you have a relative on medicare assistance of some sort?" (nearly all of them do) "Well then why don't you take personal responsibility for your family instead of leaving it to the govt? Why would you be so irresponsible so as not to plan for your relatives? And why weren't you responsbile enough to save for retirment instead of relying on social security, which my generation will have to pay for?"

These shrill people wouldn't know responsibility if straddled them and pissed in their eyes. They just get off on feeling morally superior.

The fastest way to shut up an idiot that throws this simple line out is (1) remind them there are hundreds of thousands of parents in this country looking to adopt, (2) my taxes already pay for welfare for other's people's mothers and public education for other's people's kids, and (3) since when is going to college be an inalienable right?

When I read articles like this, I really question natural selection.

"After taking a bike ride to cool down, he took a crossbow from the trunk of his car and shot a phonebook "so he could impress his mother with the power of the cross bow," according to a report by Martin County sheriff's officials. He said when she wasn't impressed, he shot her in the chest, the report said."

Bet she was impressed then.

Bush, and fiscal "credibility."

From today's WaPo, demonstrating GOP congressional fiscal discipline:
  • THE CORPORATE tax bill that Congress has sent to the White House rewards just about every special interest that retains a lobbyist in Washington. Makers of sonar fish finders stand to gain, as do importers of Chinese ceiling fans, dog-track operators who cater to foreign gamblers, and Native Alaskan whaling captains.

    ***

A few years ago, congressional Republicans claimed to stand for free-market principles -- for the idea that government should get out of the way and allow the economy to reward the innovators and entrepreneurs who fuel progress. But power has corrupted the party. Now that they are the incumbents, they skew the economic playing field so as to reward their friends and fill their campaign treasuries.

The bill that Congress has produced is monstrous in just about every way. Designed to close a $5 billion-a-year export subsidy that violated international trade law, it ended by spraying out $140 billion in business breaks over 10 years. It absurdly rewards tobacco farmers, and absentee tobacco landlords, without imposing even the minimal regulation on tobacco that the nation's biggest cigarette maker had agreed to. In Friday's debate, President Bush said he would discipline Congress in order to reduce the budget deficit. If Mr. Bush cannot bring himself to veto this terrible bill, it will be hard to take him seriously.

OK, GOPers. Your candidate, somewhat improbably, ridicules the credibility of his opponent on fiscal matters while remaining curiously silent on the double digit increases in non-defense-related spending on his watch, and his apparent loss of his veto pen, lying somewhere in uncleared brush in Crawford.

Anyone think he'll veto this? Slave, you still think he'll find his pen sometime after Election Day?
