I'm glad they rejected the "Near Dark" ending, though. It didn't really work there, either; a sad coda to one of the best vampire movies ever made. In any event, regardless of how shakey the transfusion idea is, sacrificing Jim to save the father makes no sense whatsoever - in a "wipe out the entire population catastrophe" scenario, procreation becomes the fundamental issue in post-catastrophe reconstruction, in which case Jim can reproduce with both women, while the father can do so, safely, only with one. And that the writer/director did think about, as was evident from the army-dude scenario they went with. BR(happy for a chance to think of Near Dark for any reason - and Lance)C |

And why didn't Dallas make the "Best People Watching" list? Something is seriously wrong here. |

My sample consists mainly of gay guys, but there are a couple of hetero guys in thrown in. Oh, and, I've tried it. Half a pill only, but it was pretty cool. Made me feel warmer than usual (I guess b/c of increased heart rate and circulation) and resulted in very enjoyable sex due to greater sensitivity. Sebby, you should know not to limit sample sizes on drug effects to one friend. What if the first guy you ever talked to about mushrooms had been put off by the taste of them? Tell me your life would have been as enjoyable without the all-day-sex-on-shrooms-watching-people-tripping-outside day. |

I took Zoloft for one day back a few years ago when I thought that depression might be my problem (I later decided it was more stress over realizing that I needed to get out of my marriage than depression) and the side effects were so horrible that I decided that I would rather be depressed than take that stuff. Supposedly if you can get past the adjustment period, then that stuff goes away. Either that or you need to try something from a different class of drug if the side effects are something that you can't deal with (e.g. a Wellbutrin instead of a Zoloft). Many people I've known have had to switch drugs over time due to certain side effects. As to the study, I'm sure it will be difficult to measure how much it relates to anti-depressants vs. the depression that caused the patients to seek treatment. PS. I realize I've rambled all over the map on this post, and the middle paragraph doesn't really relate to the study at hand, but since it is a slow day here anyway, I am going to post this as is and not re-edit to get back on point. So there. |
