FYI, I've never seen Buffy, but by several measures it's one of the most successful TV shows ever -- mostly by the insane devotion of its fan-base, but also by its lengthy run and excellent ratings (taking into account the crappy network it's on. It's kind of like looking at ERAs of American League pitchers -- you have to make an adjustment).

Try using a different brand (assuming you don't make the coconut milk, which is doable but a real pain in the ass). Some brands are thicker than others.
