Tom Cruise, son Connor and fiancée Katie Holmes hit the field at the Washington Redskins-Minnesota Vikings football game in Landover, Md., on Monday. It was a bit of business and pleasure: The actor's production company recently signed a financing deal with Redskins owner Dan Snyder.
Geez, how tall/big is she? I always thought she had a sort of delicate bone structure, even if tallish.

I think you just gave some family members a coronary, Shifty. Thanks a lot.

(ETA: They are inlaws, so the coronary is something of a mixed blessing.)

Well, don't take your fantasy picks from a schmuck like Kornheiser.

Does anyone else interview kids for their college? I'm one of the local alumni volunteers for my small liberal arts college, and I do about three or four interviews a year. I generally assume that the admissions office will vet the academics and other qualifications, so I usually spend the interview trying to figure out whether or not this is a kid I'd want to be stuck in a dorm with my freshman year of college.
I always thought EA was to reduce the stress on not having to apply to a bunch of other schools you'd rather not go to.

Harvard interviews as well. My old roommate does interviews for the LA area. I think I may have been asked to do them at some point, but most of the candidates are dweebs so it would depress me (can't weed out to zero).

She allegedly just had a baby. I think that she is not back to pre-baby weight. Also, Tom is a tiny tiny man. Katie is 5'9" or 5'10".

ETA: Upon re-review of the photo in question, I note that the belt high on her waist does not have the effect that I bet she hoped for.

I think she's 5'10". He's just short. And she "had a baby" four months ago, so she's probably still a little bigger than usual.

ETA: theme jinx with NCS! Yay!!

Ummm, because not everyone knows what they are voting for (and some shouldn't know anything about it). But if you do know what Penske is talking about, yes, go vote!

If you are in Rhode Island.

Also, full disclosure, I am on the ballot for a judgeship in WA state. Please vote for me, if possible, for the children....

OK, so 2 of the Desperate Housewives are pregnant. Who's next? I say Eva Longoria.

I can only attribute this to the Ambien and to the plot of a novel I had the chance to read recently, but I had a freaky dream about Tom, Katie and Suri the other night. I was their nanny and I had to rebuff frequent advances from Tom (which I of course found quite surprising). Katie caught Tom cheating with someone else and they had a big row and she disappeared, and I thought he killed her, so to protect the baby I drove off with her, all the while thinking, "uh, shit, I think I'm kidnapping Tom Cruise's baby." Then I woke up.

I hope Tom Cruise's PR people don't come to Lawtalkers and pressure RT for my real name and then sue me. This dream does not reflect the views of Lawtalkers regarding Tom Cruise. In fact, it does not reflect my personal opinions of him. I wish him and Katie and that adorable child every happiness. I have my own baby and I have no plans to go all Lifetime Movie of the Week and try to swipe somebody else's. Just for the record. Plus, if I brough Suri home it would make the rest of us feel bad about our hair.

Oh, I didn't even mean she looked heavy. She looks fine to me. I guess I'd always perceived her as being slim-boned, bird-like or something, in addition to slim. I think it's that husband (or whatever) of hers that's making her frame look larger.
