Both in a sense. I do not care if he is gay, but I admit that I get more glee from learning someone is a sanctimonious hypocrite on moral issues, than a run-of-the-mill hypocrite on less compelling issues. We all know politicians say they are for fiscal restraint, but vote for pork, or take farm subsidies, or take aggressive tax breaks. As for it being a so-called Liberal issue, that is because it is only the so-called conservatives running around trying to amend the constitution, make certain behavior illegal, ban strip clubs or drugs, etc.
That's why Marion Berry was a mostly non-issue - he hadn't publicly tried to fuck with other people while doing it himself. Same with Barney Frank. On these social issues, the only hypocrisy comes from the so-called Christian, moral majority, right. Thus, by definition, the glee comes from finding out that they violate their alleged, professed values by fucking men, kids pets, or prostitutes, abusing drugs, etc.
Did I get glee from finding out Rush Limbaugh was an addict? Absolutely. Am I glad he was addicted? No, but I admit to getting more enjoyment from that level of hypocrisy than learning he was secretly listening to Al Franken.
