TV Shows on DVD -- a Poll

I went shopping with a friend this weekend and I was stunned to see him buying a half-dozen tv shows on dvd, everything from 24 to Star Trek: Enterprise.

Aside from The Office, what shows do you have or what shows are you eagerly awaiting?

To answer my own poll:

We have both Eddie Izzard dvds and Samurai Jack.

The Family Guy. Equal-opportunity offensive and hilarious skewering.

I would probably get Dynasty (pre-change-of-Stevens) if they offered it.

And dating. In cars. With hormone-addled teenagers who make the characters on "Coupling" look like the "Just Say No!" crowd at the First Baptist Church of Podunkville.

And I think the Park Hyatt (as well as the Four Seasons) is around $450/night now.
There are weekend deals at the Park Hyatt for less, but you are probably about right on the general rate. THat said, the Park Hyatt Watertower is a nice hotel. One of the nicest I've ever stayed in period. Been meaning to do a romantic weekend with my guy up there because I've only ever stayed there for business, but it has a great set-up for couples...

We enjoyed our stay at W Lakeshore and I've had pleasant stays at several other Chicago hotels. Including Hotel Burnham which is in (I've heard) one of the few downtown buildings to survive the great fire. The crappiest one I've ever stayed in up there is The Palmer House. Apparently resting on some old reputation because it currently sucks. Much like the Waldorf-Astoria in NYC.

Stangers With Candy- I would only buy what is never on.

I have a tendancy not to watch DVD's or VHS of things I own, but many of these I'd never miss when televised. Example, Godfather sits getting dusty in my collection, but I will always watch it when on TV.

Both Eddie Izzards (e/o, have you watched Circle yet?), some old SATC seasons, first season of 6 Feet Under, some old South Parks, many concert dvds.

I would like to have Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, more good standup (any recommendations?).

Buffy, Angel and the X-Files.

I will probably get the Simpsons at some point, and perhaps Ailas.

My favorite downtown hotel is the Fairmont, without question. .
The Fairmont kicks ass. It's rooms are bigger than my condo (which isn't saying much), and the rooms come with those great terrycloth robes with the embroidered "F". Nothing says "class" like an embroidered "F".

The Surreal Life 2

How do you follow up the Corey Feldman show? With 7 more celebrity has-beens of course...

Another late '80s, early '90s rapper is reportedly going to participate in The WB's The Surreal Life, along with a jailed televangelist's ex-wife and gay icon. Vanilla Ice and Tammy Faye Messner have both reportedly signed on for The Surreal Life 2, the New York Post reports. Vanilla Ice, a.k.a. Rob Van Winkle, once trashed the set of an MTV show that was retiring his video for "Ice Ice Baby," and "descended into a drug-fueled suicide attempt five years" before that, according to an AP story. After divorcing televangelist Jim Bakker when he went to jail, Tammy Faye went on to host a talk show with Jim J. Bullock, and has become "an unlikely icon for the gay community."
