2. I think everyone has a geekitude for something and very few people's geekitude is satisfied by law. Fortunately for me, I do have a (hopefully well-hidden) geeky bent that gets excited about certain things about my job (I don't generally like the people too much, except the partner I currently work with, who is super-fantastic). But most people don't. And if absolutely no part of you gets excited about your job, then you should get out. If some little part of you does, then you can maybe find a way within the law to build on that, but if no part does, it's just never going to happen. imo, anyway.

Because everyone understand that Bledsoe was only getting $15M in the fifth year because it wasn't guaranteed. Which is to say that NFL contracts are full of fake money at the end of the contract. Unlike MLB, where -- e.g. -- the money owed to Johnny Damon in the last year of his contract is going to have to be paid, whether or not he's still producing at the same level. (Just to take another Boston player who can no longer throw as well as he once could.)

Which is to say that if Bledsoe's contract were guaranteed, he'd be making a lot less. And the teams would be paying more players -- those that can play and those who became injured and now can't. The payroll is just as large, but it's spread across more people.

He can go on and on about how he's faced these allegations before, there's nothing new, he's never had a positive test, etc. But don't try to tell me it's not true because you're a cancer survivor and are inherently good and couldn't possibly have cheated and then lied repeatedly for enormous sums of money.

But for you and dtb to be incredulous that I am not falling all over myself to say "wow! you won the lottery of life you really did" is utter bs. We all make choices and live with them and I throw no envy your way....it's your choice...

The team is not backing out of anything if the deal was that they could walk away.

If the team needs 50 people on the roster, and if it's going to have to pay another 10 who would not be paid if their contracts were not guaranteed, it's going to have a payroll of 60 instead of 50. There's no reason to think that teams are going to be willing to spend more money on their player payroll than they do now, so they're going to divide up the money under the cap 60 ways instead of 50 ways.

You know what? any attractive woman worth her salt can find this type of set up. TM casting negative aspersions in my direction, aside, back in the day I had lots of options with successful men, however, I chafed at ceding control. It ain't no thing if you know what I'm saying.
