Sorry. You're not changing my mind on the war. Osama is still out there. Billions spent and thousands dead, all for the wrong cause. Would it have taken 1400 dead marines to capture Osama? Doubt it. 50,000 Afghanis? Doubt it.

A non sequitur, but correct.

Clinton left himself wide open.

Kim Jong-Il: Illin'

Kim Jong-Il's well-documented ardor for American movies appears to be fading, thanks to a certain movie from Stone and Parker. Fuck, yeah!

  • The caricature of North Korea's "Dear Leader", Kim Jong-Il, in the film, "Team America: World Police," is striking a discordant note among North Korean officials, and probably their supreme leader himself, despite his well-known love for private viewings of foreign movies.

Word from Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is that the North Korean embassy there is asking the government to ban the film, the creation of Trey Parker and Matt Stone of South Park fame.

    ***

A Czech newspaper, Lidove Noviny, reports that a North Korean diplomat complained that the film "harms the image of our country." He was even quoted as saying, "Such behavior is not part of our country's political culture."

Were I funny, I'd put a punchline here, but I'm struggling to come up with one that does not include the word "Brix."

When I see this puppet I still giggle, damn them.

Given the reference to "tens of thousands" of Iraqis, I suspect he's talking about the ones who got dead before they could vote (assuming non-Chicago rules).

Hoo, boy.
  • WASHINGTON - Just one day after U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton decided not to run for a second term, comedian Al Franken may be throwing his hat into the ring.

Last year, Franken said he wanted to run for the Senate in 2008. But last night he told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that he is now considering his candidacy for next year.

On the positive side, this will give us all ample comedic material for the next 18 months or so. Downside -- I expect that the beautiful conversations to come will be without bilmore, whose subsequent commitment to GOP Senate campaign fundraising for pretty much any breathing biped that the MN GOP nominates may preclude any kayaking or posting whatsoever.

I shall miss him. [*sniff*]
No more crying for bilmore, Gatti:
  • Al Franken has finally announced he won't, as was previously rumored, run for Senate. Meanwhile, hundreds of reporters are insanely pissed they were assigned to listen to Air America all day.

On the bright side: at least Air America tripled their audience for the afternoon.

Wonkette

What a soap opera.

Unable to come up with a better test than the one club offered, The American Prospect launched a contest for an "elevator pitch" for liberalism -- in 30 words or less, describe what liberalism stands for. David Burge didn't want to leave the playing field to the lefties; here are some of his suggestions:

DAVE'S ELEVATOR PITCHES FOR THE LIBERAL AGENDA
  • Feel how this elevator is moving up? That's what Liberalism is about: moving people up. Hey you zombies, stop looking at the door! I'm talking to you! About Liberalism.
  • Unlike jingoistic Conservatism, Liberalism is complex and very hard to boil down to thirty words or less, but I will: The essence of Liberalism is freedom. And progress. And... wait a minute. That first part doesn't count against the thirty word limit, does it? I'm sure there were some hyphenates, and think I used 'it' and 'in' a couple of times, so they really shouldn't count. C'mon dude, do-over.
  • I'll tell you what it Liberalism doesn't stand for: Bush. And you can just take that to the bank, mister. Damn straight. Mmm hmm. Okay, how many words is that?
  • Liberalism means unfettered freedom of speech, relentlessly speaking your mind, without... hey man, you're getting off on the wrong floor! This is only 8! I saw you push 32!
  • If not for safety laws passed by Liberals, this elevator would now be plummeting helplessly to the bottom of the shaft. And a fat lot of good your precious Jesus would do you.
  • Even in your advanced gestation, Liberals stand for your right to a safe, legal abortion. You're not pregnant? Whoaaa, my bad. tch-tch-tch-tch-tchoot... I hate these uncomfortable silences, don't you?
  • What do Liberals stand for? Just look around this elevator: braille buttons for the blind; official elevator permits; and this brave African-American passenger, finally freed from her slavemasters -- by Liberals.
  • Liberalism means expanding marriage rights to gay couples like you. Not gay? Oh. I just thought, well, you guys looked, umm, tch-tch-tch-tch-tchoot...
  • Liberals believe that everyone deserves a ride on the elevator of freedom. Let us now push each button as a testament to our commitment to inclusion.
  • Let's move beyond the old tired arguments about who's to blame for the fart. Liberals, like me, want to work together to find a vent to our common elevator car.

You sound like a client's SOX auditors, who were asking crap like, well, how do we know that it was actually X who signed this document?

I mean, even if we had a videotape of a woman who appeared to be Condi looking at this memo, it COULD BE that the person was just a look-alike! Liberal media conspiracy!!!!!

Did you read the memo? It's a declassified document.

How do you find time to post when you have to bust through the little doors every 15 minutes to announce the time?

You an SS need to learn how to prove a point- you have a good url for a starting point, the GW page, but you need to go to the law school- then enroll- then pay attention in class- maybe then you will learn how to present a argument in a coherent fashion and so that your point are supported by evidence..
