How do you fake the number of people though? If they have 3 on staff, what's that person doing? Do they rotate out to surf the internet? I can see slipping on fixing a fence, but it's not like they're setting up a mannequin at drop off time and then making do. Or is it?
The other two are inside eating the kids' lunches.

I thought your kid had beat them to them, though.

Ha.

The first kid is turning out to be very tall and, amazingly, quite thin. The second, well, the jury is still out on him.....since he's too fat to roll over, he's probably not thieving food at this point. The good news is that he went from 60% height at birth to 90% at 6mos, so at least his height is catching up with the fat, which is not even close to being on the chart.

All the classes are well staffed but then the teachers leave the classroom to do "other things." Yesterday: two classes playing together outside, with 4 caregivers watching. One went inside to "get the lunches ready", leaving 3. Then, another "went inside for a minute, probably to use the bathroom" (reality: probably a 10 minute phone call), leaving 2 caregivers. Sometimes, a teacher has to go sit with a sick child in the front room until the parents come. What they need is one floater to pinch hit where needed.

(Or, they need to bring in Junior Tex Lex who will simply eat anyone who doesn't have a good ratio).

You can't really answer the question precisely without knowing the age of each child out there. All you can tell is that they were probably close to the required ratio of staff -- but with 2-3 kids too many.

Time to file the Complaint.

So baby dL decided to make an early appearance last weekend. Mrs. dL's waters broke on Friday afternoon (her last day of work, natch) and the little guy was born the next morning, by Caesarean. He's 3 1/2 was weeks early and has some lung immaturity, but is otherwise doing perfectly. Mrs. dL continues to astound, as she is already off her pain meds and walking around like nothing happened...

Congratulations. Glad to hear everyone is doing well, and he will catch up soon enough. Is everybody home yet, and if not, how soon?

Congrats. And if you need any help getting rid of those extra pain pills, just let me know.

Thanks, Spooky. Mrs. dL was discharged last week (4 days after the C) and Mini Me should come home this week, assuming that he stops being lazy and kicks the O2 habit. :)

She went home on nothing but high-dose motrin. I'm not sure what the street value of Advil is, but I don't think it's more than $8.95.

Now you pipe up...I flushed a whole bottle of oxycontin down the pot just last week.

Congrats to the whole dL family! And especially to the Mrs., because, well, she did all the work.

So, how much did he weigh, etc.? Who does he look like? Is he just so cute you can hardly stand it, or do even you have to admit he's a little on the homely side?

Enquiring minds want to know.
