I heard when they were first filming it that Mel didn't want subtitles. Did he relent on this?

 | I'm with you - I want to see it but don't particularly want to give Mel my cash. But I'm psyched to see a movie in Aramaic and Latin (though, apparently, most of the merchants and low-level Roman functionaries about would actually have been speaking Greek, which was sort of the "Latin" of the time, but nevermind). What can I say, I stayed up until 2 am to see Incubus (the only film ever made by William Shatner in Esperanto), I'm a language freak. Dunno about subtitles, but they would be helpful since my Latin sucks pretty badly and my aramaic is, er, nonexistent. (Though, if the Latin dialogue is the Jerome Vulgate Latin, I'll know most of it.) Quod scripsi, scripsi!

Re: Bush: TUIMM more than a little bit. Fucking ignorant prig biggot. And, Fugee, I plan to vote for Nader and write to all the applicable other candidates & their national parties and tell them exactly why. By hand. On my nicest monogrammed stationery so they worry they have also pissed me off enough to forego my contributions.

Re: Xmas - in my case, there was a 12/29 court date we were racing to meet, believe it or not. On the other, I worked 8 hours Thanksgiving Day because the inhouse client wanted to review drafts at his leisure over the rest of the weekend and send them to the other side Sunday in preparation for honcho-business guy meetings Monday after the holiday (which I guess qualifies as a "biz guy wants to have it all ready when he comes back from his vacation" situation). |
