ppnyc believe she has NotBob's imprimatur. I am not sure why, but she does.

I've told NotBob this. I hold him personally responsible for a lot of the "odius" behavior that's gone on around here lately.
That's a little unfair. Everyone here has been doing their part to promote odious behaviour for years and now you're just going to waltz in and give Not Bob all the credit?

A noir reference, no doubt.

No. I specified recent odious behavior.

You can have all the rest.

"Funny Not Bob" is an oxymoron.

No. It was unintentional, but I think would have been funnier with "weirdly." Or "oddly."

There are some clouds in the small patch of sky I can see.

I am on a conf call with some incredibly slow (stupid) people. I declined to join them in the small conference room, because I might not be able to resist the temptation to call them stupid to their faces. Honestly. They are like, um, whatever animal or reptile has the least evolved brain. Someone please tell me what this is, so I can call them the right thing.

But it's not lunch time yet.

Speaking of, since the new mall is now open in SF, everyone has been anxious to try the new Wiches. Been there?

Motherfucking Directv HD DVR

This thing is a complete piece of crap.* I have been having a problem where when I start a recorded program playing somewhere in the first minute or so it freezes up and won't play forward or fast forward and the only solution I have found is to rewind it to the beginning and fast forward past the place where it froze up. Odd, right? So yesterday I went to watch the new episode of The Office (in HD) and when I hit play, just a black screen shows up and I can't rewind it or fast forward it. It does nothing even though it indicates that something 30 minutes long was recorded (and it was on the correct NBCW channel, not NBCE). Motherfucker. Why is this thing so incredibly shitty and what the fuck made Directv think that cutting off Tivo and making people buy this thing would keep them in business? I am so angry. Like being generally not user friendly and having a season pass feature that randomly decides not to record new episodes of shows for no discernable reason were not bad enough.

So, if someone would like to shoot me a PM and let me know if I should pay for this week's Office download or just wait until it hits reruns to watch, I would greatly appreciate it. And if someone would like to buy a barely used HD Directv DVR, just make me an offer. Before I just chuck the thing out my living room window.

*(I almost left the "complete piece of carp" typo there. It made me happy. But good old typo-stickler Hank ruined my fun for me. What! A! Meanie!)

NotBob is NotResponsible for my "odious" behavior nor does he condone it. In fact he has spoken to me about it as well.

Thanks.

Can't say I've been over there yet. It's a little far for lunch, and I don't go far out of my way to get to malls.

Did they actually let you buy it? Having looked into the hd dvr, I was under the impression that all DirecTV boxes are subject to leases now.

I would suggest calling and complaining, as their customer service is generally quite good, altho I have never dealt with them with a hardware problem. You may just have a defective box.*

*While not intentional, I'm leaving it that way

I have never let bygones be bygones, which is difficult, because how do you not let something be what it is? Do you even have a choice? How can I not let the sky be the sky or happiness be happiness or Mojitos be Mojitos. They are what they are and that is what it is. Nonetheless, I have never let bygones be bygones and I do not plan to start now.
