I can't remember whether we agreed that there's a comma in "Bilmore, please" or not. I'm thinking yes, but I wanted to get it right, since I have to say this so often on the PB.

Concur. Husband asked if that was the $2 headband he sees at Longs Drug Store all the time.
And will Tom Cruise never shave?
Al Pacino with a ponytail? I so hope that he's doing it for a 3 musketeers redux.

And you left out JHo. Looked like her makeup artist took the day off.

And why keep showing Tom Cruise? Yeah, he was nominated for the award she was presenting, but they kept showing him a la Justin Timberlake during the Madonna-Brittney Spears kiss. Why? Did they expect him to to flip her off or stand up and moon her or something? Or vice versa? WTF?

Although I will admit that I had a secret little "wouldn't it be weird if he wins and has to go up and hug her" thought.

Gwen Stefani should not go around in all white like that -- she nearly disappears when you combine it with that white hair and pale skin.

How highbrow.

I watched good bad movies now on dvd:

Cabin Fever, an excellent horror movie. I had to watch some of it through my fingers and I paused it when it got too intense. Now, that's a good bad movie.

Underworld, the Vampire-Werewolf movie was much better than it should have been.

Croupier, please. I was comparing Blackadder to Better Off Dead. I recognize there will be some who consider this a compliment to both, but that was not my intent. Each is a good time, the first time, but has no legs.

I would gladly put Are You Being Served? up against the worst WB comedy in a battle royale to prove the cultural superiority of America, if I was certain the Brits would be allowed no last-minute substitutions.

My three cents:

1) This was apparently Anti-GOP agenda year (again) - as they awarded the two Bush haters the best actor awards - Tim Robbins and Sean Penn (even though he never shows up) and all those awards for that already dated play Angels in America

2) Anthony LaPaglia's wife is a babe

3) Sex in the City chicks - but for Kristen - look like a bunch of old wombats. And since I can never say enough bad things about SJP, I'd like to point out she is developing turkey arms

4) Christina Ricci put on the weight again and looked great. Renee Zellwiger looked great in her face - but my god - that junk in the trunk

5) Diane Lane - MILF

6) Jen Aniston - who I don't like - looked great. Where was Brad?

7) Al Pacino is turning into Marlon Brando, i.e. an overacting slob

8) Pierce Brosnan is like 100 and is still the most handsome guy out there

9) Charlize - well, hey. I told all of you.

Counterpoint - the movie had an interesting idea and yet found a way to totally suck

And then I will get on the Nokia and arrange a three-way with Miss Sandra Day O'Connor. Ohhhh, yeaaaaaah . . . .

Concur. For so many reasons.

And it is a shame that your dioramarama probably took place before the age of cheap & easy video. Real-speed mock 30 foot waves of molasses are clearly internet-worthy. My diorama of a log jam on the river during the lumbering era was clearly not, since they wouldn't let me use an M-80 to simulate blowing up the jam.

I thought it was pretty and sort of contentless, while the Mr. quite liked it - which is odd, I'm usually the one who likes eye candy for its own sake. I think he was rather caught by the romance of the underlying idea, enough so that he didn't really notice that they didn't do anything with it (and, no being a connoseur of eye candy, he didn't really mind that all the glamour of it was translated as "particularly silly, feeble eurotrash"). In which case I need to get him the graphic novels, or whatever it was based on.

Damn.

I saw that this weekend as well. It's was a pretty good "horrible horror movie". I especially liked the Deliverance-like fucked up little kid (don't worry, I'm not giving anything away).
