choc/coffee/pecans taste bad? huh? the blueberries have no flavor- they just make me feel better since they are supposed to contain anti-oxidents. They're are frozen, not fresh and flavorful.

Who am I? Noone you know (as far as I know). Just trying to work my way into the cocktail party that is the FB, and I love the food at Versailles, and given what you had alluded to about the areas you work and live, I figured the Culver City and/or La Cienega locations might work for you. Anyone can feel to ask me questions about who I am if they like, though. I'm not trying to be mysterious about myself or anything. Just not sure what to share in response to the "who are you" question.

I don't know if they have Sangria. I think I've only had beer there, and all my recent orders have been to go, so I haven't gotten a peek at the bebida list in a while.
Good call, newLAber. Versailles is tits. Tits in your face.

Take the blueberries out and it's not so nasty. Tasty, even. Why ruin a good thing in the name of health? Drink a glass of cranberry juice on your way over.

2. What the fuck kind of person wants blueberries atop chocolate and coffee ice cream? It could be said that any mixture of sugary items works together to soem extent, but I stop before that slippery slope. I say no to raspberry sorbet smothered in butterscotch, gummi bears and peanut brittle.

I just can't mix fruit and chocolate. Fruit flavors are great. Chocolate flavors (with nuts, if you like) are great. But they are not two great tastes that taste great together.

Keeping in mind that in late June of 94, I (i) resided just off of San Vincente in Brentwood (ii) frequented the same Starbucks (amonsgst other businesses) as Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, (iii) ran by Nicole's house on a daily basis with little more than a pair of short split running shorts, flats, sunglasses and a smile (i.e. it could easily have been me in the Goldman role).......

If I were to confess to the Nicole Brown Simpson/Ron Goldman killings, do you think I could turn it into a free first class trip to LA? Today Show appearance? the View? Book deal? Movie deal? Perhaps get to meet OJ (again)?

Thoughts?

Blueberries have no flavor? They're a very flavorful fruit, far moire flavorful than fucking pecans. I'll granted you choc/coff/pecan work together - not well - but acceptably. But the bberries just don't work here. they make no sense inthe combination, and you're giving people bad ideas and false hope about flavor combinations.

3. I don't do the creamy chocolate on fruit thing. Why is it also considered a sexy thing? People bought my wife and me champagne at our hotel along with choc covered strawberries. Neither aided the sex. And I don't know why anyone would think they would. Has anyone ever sat back and said "Cocholate covered fruit and enough bubbly to give me just a tiny hint of a buzz... ahhh... I'm suddenly so horny." No. No one gets their mojo rolling because of fruti or oysters or anything else Mickey Rourke drizzled over Kim Basinger. Total marketing gimmick.

Cadbury is not an acceptable comparison. Cadbury is the Arthur Treachers or American Motors of candy making. Somehow, they stayed in business a lot longer than they should, but you'd never eat or drive either. Nobody buys a goddamned Cadbury candy bar at the local 7-11.

If not for those sugar-mucous filled Easter eggs, the company would've liquidated years ago.

Using the eggs as an example of Cadbury's woes is like complaining about a U.S. bottle of Lowenbrau ("Brewed Under License by Miller!"). Their chocolate, as distributed in England, is far better than the pablum Hershey's serves up. Although I'll let dtb have my fruit and nut chocolate bar.

Raisinettes are good. I buy cadbury fruit & nut bars when I can find them. Strawberries in thick hot fudge sauce (like, cut up -- it's not pretty-pretty) ROCK. Raspberries seem to work with chocolate. Chocolate-covered cherries are not bad, esp considering I don't like cherries that much. Chocolate-covered strawberries always seem like they are kept too cold so the chocolate doesn't taste much, and they usually are those ginormous strawberries, so they aren't bite-sized and the chocolate covering breaks up, falls off and makes a mess.

I have never actually seen one of those things in action before. I've heard about them, but it seems like something that's quite messy to haul out to an event where people dress up.

ETA: This reminds me of something.

Does anyone actually own a fondue pot? If so, do you use it? Whenever I see them in the kitchen stores, I'm strangely compelled to desire one. I think I've had fondue a grand total of once, and I know that it would just end up next to the crock pot that I never use.

Dude, choco fondue?

heh

2 AoN things.

I was in Grand Central buying monthly tix. The woman at the counter said after me, she was closing shop. The woman in front turns to me and says "Okay so you have to tell everyone else she's closed" I said "man I have to work even on lunch?? I must have that face" and she said "you have a very approachable, open face" then she told me she liked my lipgloss and wanted to know what kind it was [Laura Mercier and Chanel combined]

Then just now at Starbucks I was counseling the barista about his g/f who has graduated and can't find a job and is getting depressed. I ticked off alumni network, internships, volunteering, and temping to get yr foot in the door. he just kind of looked at me like okayyyy wow. Yeah I don't mess around.
