You'd really think that I'm a presumptive asshole just because I think that some people do things for reasons I think indicate problems with our society? Objectification and image-obsession are real problems. You might think that this is about me wanting to look down on women who make themselves "sexier" because of some Freudian rejection thing or inability to get en erection or whatever. It's not. It's about concern. That's why I think that it sounds paternalistic. And maybe it does. But concern for those I consider to be less fortunate than me is just a thing that I feel. And, condescending as it may sound or be, I think that women who feel like they have to get bigger tits to make society like them are less fortunate than I am. All I feel like I have to do to have society like me is have a few decent suits and a nice car.

Objectification and image-obsession make people, especially women, do things that aren't healthy for them, like have low self-esteem, have eating disorders or staying with partners who are abusive, either emotionally or physically. I think that those things suck. I think going to strip clubs is great and fun and I love seeing naked women and having them rub their bodies against mine. But after seeing how messed up so many of these women are, the whole "it's just a sexy girl making some extra money" fantasy is kind of gone for me. Stripping is different from breast implants, sure, but some of the same issues are there.

So, bitch please.

Who could be opposed to this post?

Seriously, she is looking good post-Billy Bob.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Bjork (I will not post the photo, but curious onlookers may click this link - http://cache.eonline.com/Gossip/Fash...ina.102003.jpg)

MSN: Good teasers, not so much on the stories

Your daily otherwise not discussed ET-type fix:

Stephen King horrified by Bennifer

Courtney Cox may be preggers

editorial: David Arquette shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. One of him is one too many.

On the plus side, this article also says that Shannen Doherty plans to pose for Playboy.

Don't forget about her ass.
I was watching, god help me, celebrity beauty tips last night ( I swear I was also doing something important) and saw a segment where a woman got the fat sucked out of her stomach and put into her ass. I literally saw this woman's ass inflate like a balloon and the doctor jiggle her ass a lot. It was the most bizarre and disgusting thing I have ever seen. Apparently they are freezing some of her stomach flab for fture injections. WTF? I thought people wanted the fat out of their asses. Who pays big money to have it put in? I cant bleieve the thigns people do to themselves. Especially for a fat ass.

query: do you think anyone is actually reading your (is it 3rd or 4th) wordy long post on this subject?

I admit it is possible that TM is reading if he is in the mood to fight this topic today, but even that seems unlikely.

Carry on.

Interesting. I'll defer to you here.

2: I guess you need to define what is your basis for considering some sizes "normal." You are right that the "average" size of an American female is a 12. I dispute that that is "normal." Since the average height of an Aamerican female is 5'3" or 5'4", size 12 is usually not normal but overweight. Not that lipo is the answer, but, frankly, the healthy "normal" weight for most of us is closer to a 2 or a 4 than a 12.
It's also interesting that we looked at this the opposite way; I was comparing in my mind someone going from somewhat overweight to more or less average and thinking that's okay, while you see someon who needs to try a diet first. I don't disagree. I was looking at it as weight loss, and not sculpting. I guess I was thrown off by the massive change in sizes, but you have explained that.

I suppose my sense of "normal" is somewhat colored by the women in my family, the shortest of whom is about 5'8". Especially in my parent's generation, there are a lot of size 10-14s that are not at all overweight, while my size 4 (ish, I've never asked) cousin is rail thin (nicknamed Mantis by her high school friends, because of her thin arms and legs and reputation for emotionally slaughtering former boyfriends).

You don't go with topless. You go with tight and scanty. Parents who get breast implants for their kids are against such things as public nudity. [/QUOTE]

And they are against booty dancing.

of course, because allowing public nudity would send the wrong message to their daughter

well of course, but the breast implants are okay, because the body is God's temple and therefore should look as attractive as possible.

Sort of topical - does anyone watch it? I never know when it's on, but if I catch it I cannot stop watching it. Some of the transformations are incredible.
