Since we're professing mutual love, I always read yours on PB. I second gwinky's position on you... You're reasonable and come at issues from sensible, well thought out positions. Although this board would appear to eschew those qualities, its actually in dire need of them, as a scan of the last week proves (although it remains the most entertaining in a long time). You should stay here.

ETA: And I respect the fact that you're one of the very few people on PB who isn's wearing blinders. You lean conservative, but in a realistic, pargmatic fashion. I can't even really call you partisan, which is a compliment.

Everyone. Spanky is used to having his very own board. He's come to expect a certian level of attention. We ALL need to make him feel welcome if you want to convince him to stay.

If you want to get technical about it. I should have said at some point you are going to have to lie to every woman. No woman is perfect, and every woman "has a bad hair day". On such bad hair days or when queried about her possibly one imperfection, you need to lie. Every women is insecure about her looks* (especially models because they go to castings all day most of which are unsuccessful, and even supermodels get turned down from jobs because they "just don't look right" - and their imagination turns that into - you are ugly).

You can never tell a woman she is attractive enough. And the one time you tell her that her thighs could just be a little bit thinner is the one comment she will remember for the rest of her life and she will spin it over and over again in her head.

To call a women ugly is just plain cruel. It would be nicer to beat her with a baseball bat. The injury from the latter assault would heal much quicker.

There is no excuse for calling a woman ugly or unattractive to her face. It just should never be done under any circumstances. In this one circumstance lying is not only acceptable it is an imperative.

* The only exception to this rule is fat black women.

Um, I'm not sure that is my position. I think he is a bit of an odd duck, to be honest (as are most of us). But we do not have his particular brand of strange on this board yet, and I, for one, appreciate it.

This is tripe. Women are no more fragile than men. I agree with you to a certain extent -- white lies, here are there are harmless and probably beneficial in most cases. And it's okay to have such a rule in general. But if you do, it shouldn't be applied to just women on some sort of theory that they are incapable of hearing the truth because of permanent mental trauma.
