There is no excuse for calling a woman ugly or unattractive to her face. It just should never be done under any circumstances. In this one circumstance lying is not only acceptable it is an imperative.

This is tripe. Women are no more fragile than men. I agree with you to a certain extent -- white lies, here are there are harmless and probably beneficial in most cases. And it's okay to have such a rule in general. But if you do, it shouldn't be applied to just women on some sort of theory that they are incapable of hearing the truth because of permanent mental trauma.

YOu know what Flinty? that is bs. I didn't ask them to defend me publicly. They are friends with a lot of people here and I selflessly asked them not to get involved and they sent nice PMs and nice emails. On the former, I think it depends on the man and who is saying it. On the latter, Flinty told me it only hurts when it's true.

If you're a guy and a girl you really like and respect tells you she thinks you're too busted to date, it would be as deeply scarring as if it happened to a woman. Guys laugh it off when they're in a bar and some girl says the same after a dumb line. But in that kind of situation, so do women.

Hell, my criticism of The Notorious F.A.T. shouldn't have bothered her at all. She doesn't fucking know me. There is no reason to value my opinion and any sane person would have said, "I and my husband disagree," and that would have been the end of it. And, although I've met ugly girls who think they're hot, I have yet to meet a hot girl who doesn't know it on some level. The ones who are and know it don't let insults about their looks bother them that much, unless it comes from someone they care about and/or respect.

So that is why, if I really cared, I would go to my female friends. One in particular. Do you think TM can do the relative thing? Like (and I am not speaking of you, of course, red lingerie girl) considering that someone is not all that, skirt A is more flattering than skirt B? Or would the answer always be "Yeah, you don't look so good in that [because you are not attractive]"?
