As if the stubborn refusal to die among the centenarians on ours lists was not enough incentive. Still around and kicking despite their age:

Brooke Astor
Max Schmelling
Princess Alice

I've got some 90+ers on my 2004 list that are going to outlive me, I suppose. Unless I take them off for 2005 and then they will drop on New Year's Day out of sheer spite.

Wrong. Score another one for Fugee. Princess Alice passed away on October 30, 2004. Linky Neither one of the celebrity death lists I am on sent an e-mail notification for her.

One of the lesser-known drawbacks of not having a last name: difficult to Google.

Sadly, that is a score for Lester, not me. I have Max and Brooke who will keep ticking until I get frustrated and take them off my list. They will then drop instantly.

You ain't kidding. Anyone have Reggie White, dead of sleep apnea at 43? Or perhaps one of the 11,000 people dead in coastal SE Asia today? Happy freaking holidays, indeed.

Reggie White

Former NFL great. He dead.

Maybe the holiday death epidemic only applies to sports figures.

I do have Max Schmeling, so there may be hope for me in the 11th hour. . .

ETA: Damn. You have to get up pretty early to beat Google-boy on one of these announcements.

RIP Susan Sontag. I'll try and find a link.

Um, I had him too.

It feels weird to be asking for acknowledgement that I accurately predicted someone's death.

Anyway, has there been any kind of official tally yet? I know we still have a couple of days, but I'm just curious about who is the best grim reaper on the board.

Jerry Orbach

Dead of prostate cancer (reported on CNN, fox news and ABC news websites). This makes me very sad. Even though he shouldn't have put Baby in a corner.

I'll get the tally up soon. I'm a slacker, I know.

Have any of my picks died?

Maybe I should charge aging celebrities to be on my list.
