It might as well be my in-home gym? Because it is my home gym. And I don't wear suits, but agree it sucks to pack work clothes in the morning.

I'm fairly certain the term applies in both cases. However, I am not an expert on male tonsorial topographical features. If that, along so many other things, is an obssession of yours, I bow to your greater sensitivity to such things.

Listen, shaft lady let's take the gloves off here. "Reasonably wealthy" is a misnomer. Ok? Hedge fund boys are reasonably wealthy. Bankers RW, Some Venture Capitalists are RW--Senior Partners with a draw from 1 mil to 4 mil are reasonably wealthy. You are comfortable, or upper middle class. Or not-starve. Perhaps you can sell that shit in the patch, but not in NYC. And what does being white have to do with happiness? What, non whites can't have money and be happy? live long and prosper? Be accurate in your digs. i meant to say that yesterday but you've used that fucking line for 5 years. I'm white and wealthy woo hoo. My brother went to Ipanema beach about two years ago. He said that when he was there he's never been solicited by so many prostitutes in his life, male and female. And all were absolutely gorgeous, gorgeous enough to actually be tempted to sleep with a prostitute, male or female. He said that their rates were waaaaaay too low, though, to even consider taking up offers. He figured they were subscribing to the Wal-Mart theory of pricing: keep prices low by upping volume of sales.

Actually, Precious, she is wealthy. And if you're making what some associates are, that makes you wealthy too. Her income puts her in the top 3 or 4 percent of American households. That's right, Princess. Households. If you don't think she's wealthy, or you don't think between you and your husband you're wealthy, then I suggest you turn your Thomas Pink shirts and your Bergdorf bras and your fucking handbags over to the Salvation Army or some prgram set up to help homeless or poor people dress well enough to get a job paying $7 bucks an hour, shag your pampered little ass to Wal-Mart, and try survivng for 30 days on what most people in this country of ours make.

You want to go getting snide on anybody on this board because they don't make a few million a year? Fuck you. Get over yourself, your inane little shopping habit, your faked sense of superiority and stop feeling sorry for yourself because you weren't able to go to law school.

You work in a nice, clean office that's cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and let's you buy your clothes someplace other than Target. So you rub elbows with people who could buy and sell you all day long. Do you really think anybody here is impressed? We all spend a lot of time around people who are far wealthier than us. The rest of us just don't feel that we're entitled to claim some sort of special status based upon the reflected glory of their money.

You want people to lay off you. Fine. Learn to stand up on your own two legs. Make some jokes. Slam a few insults that don't involve your knowledge of what the rich folk do with their money. Learn to laugh at yourself. And most important, get it through your thick fucking skull, that WE DON'T CARE IF YOU're A PARALEGAL OR A LAWYER. The only asshole making a big deal of it is you.

My fucking God, girl. Lose the attitude and grow a fucking spine.

I'm really not sure what your point is. Mine was that I think I'm doing ok and that I'm happy with my life and I don't feel as if I have gotten the shaft. I buy what I want when I want it. I apologize if you misunderstood what I was trying to say when I indicated that I am white and reasonably wealthy. What I meant to convey is that it I do not have to encounter the same obstacles that others do who are non-white and and don't make as much money as I do. I know some black people who have a hard time getting a cab in New York. I never have to know what that is like because, through accident of birth, I happen to have the color of skin that makes it easy to get cabs.

I did not mean in any way to indicate that I am better than anyone because I am white or make a decent salary. I am all too aware that others make a lot more than I do. I do not think I am rich.

I am very sorry that you misinterpreted my post. If you have a beef with me, it should not be with what you perceive as my elitism.

Because I am helpful, I will point out that I do not think you understood (among other things) what gwnc meant when she said she is white. I have not checked with her, but I am pretty sure she did not mean to suggest that it is not possible for non-whites to be wealthy and happy. In fact, I think it is safe to say that there is no plausible reading of her post from which one could draw that conclusion. I think, instead, she was merely acknowledging that she has it pretty easy compared to the vast majority of people in this country in that her income puts her near the top (as Wonk pointed out -- we all know that there are lots of people who are a lot wealthier, but still, being in the top 3% does not give one a lot to complain about), and her whiteness means that she does not have to face either subtle or overt discrimination that many others in this country have to encounter on a daily basis. But maybe I am wrong. Maybe you are right and she meant to say that she is a rich white and you are a poor asian and that makes her better. Than you.

Hey! Lay off those who buy clothes at Target. I like their underwear. I'm wearing their Xhileration brand microfiber bikini (lime green) right now, and they're the only ones who carry the cami tops that I like. Everyone else puts a stupid shelf bra in cami tops. Shelf bras are thoroughly and completely inadequate to hold these puppies up, and shelf bras are stupid if you're wearing a regular bra. I probably wear cami tops purchased at Target three or four days a week under whatever other blouse I'm wearing.

And I love their jewelry section. I end up wearing great stuff that none of my friends have because it doesn't occur to them to troll Target for funky jewlery. I'd name drop the people who've complimented me on Target purchased jewelry, but that'd be gauche.

By the by, I am wearing silk pajamas right now. From Intimo, or something like that, if that makes a difference to you. I only wear silk PJs around the house (I am working at home right now). It's a faux-homage to Hef.
