Other than pregnancy concerns, why should it matter whether its your son or your daughter having sex? Do you think your daughter's less into sex than her bf?

This whole macho line of "I'll never let my daughter out of the house" horseshit is comedy. Your daughter is going to go out and get laid, and there ain't jack shit you can do about it. Get off your high horse and be an adult about things. Being an adult involves realizing the reality for what it is - teenagers fuck.. a lot... and last I heard, it took two to fuck.
Maria, I think most of the board will agree that I am largely correct* when I say that if you do have children, we would really like to see you have girls.

*Putting aside any concerns we might have about the fate of these children.

My husband hoped and prayed we wouldn't have girls for this VERY reason. He knew he would want to strangle all the hornytoad teenaged boys** coming to court [what would have been] our lovely daughter(s). The very thought made him sick to his stomach.

**Knowing only too well what hornytoad teenaged boys think about every waking (and even sleeping!) moment.
All I know is that the most dangerous thing my daughter will ever be able to say to me where a boyfriend is concerned is "He reminds me of you, Daddy."

They'll find Hoffa's remains before they find that poor schmuck.

You'd think with all the trouble he's gone through for the conversion, that he'd at least take the time to go hair-free on the chest.
I mean really, who knows any lizards with chest hair?
And he's soo going to lose that job at the bank.

This is the most sentimental thing you've ever written here.

Kids are like a barrier to entry for most successful marriages because women are just wired to have them. Its not rational and you can't fight it. You just go with it and deal as best you can. Luckily, I have relatives around who'll enjoy watching whatever kid(s) I have, because I've no intention of having them destroy my social life.
I'm betting on Sebby turning into the ultimate softy dad. By the time the first one is in t-ball, soccer or mini-mites hockey, he'll be at every practice and game.

And now for something completely different.

Is there much (snow) skiing in Australia? The reason that I ask is that a local ski shop is advertising on the radio, using a guy with an Australian accent to read the copy. Australia never struck me as high on anyone's list as a ski destination, so the commercial seems more annoying than anything else. (And in response to anyone who would pipe up with a comment that annoying commercials are better than forgettable ones, I note that I have no idea of which store for whom Aussie boy is shilling.) If you were advertising for a ski store, wouldn't you pick someone with a Canadian or Swiss accent?

Yeah -- what I should have written was, a lot of women have the misconception, no pun, that it takes a long time to start ovulating again after stopping the pill.
The doctor we spoke to when my wife went off the pill said the opposite. After looking into it a bit, it looks like it could go either way.

"Having unprotected sex right after going off the pill increases your chances of getting pregnant, and many feel it may even increase the chances of twins, as your body tends to overreact with a jump start.

Sometimes, though, there are cases in which the opposite happens -- post-pill amenorrhea, in which there's an actual delay in cycling.

Either could happen, of course."

Who knows what was going through her mind? She gives husband the news, stops the pill, thinks maybe I shouldn't get pregnant before husband lets me know whether he's changed his mind, but what are the odds anyway, and even if I did, he loves me and I'm sure he'll be happy once he sees the baby's face, etc.
I agree with you.

Not so rare in my experience. YMMV.
