The general statement seems pretty insipid if you were to compare the caloric needs of a fit athlete with a similarly sized couch potato. One has a much higher metabolism, and will need more calories. Nothing in the article suggests they adjusted for that either.
I know this is true, but don't get why. I am in pretty good shape- run 5 miles 6 days a week at a decent pace. My resting heart rate is 60 BPM. If being fit means your heart rate is low should you burn fewer calories?

You have not even possibly had time to read the entire article.

I'm not saying any of it has anything to do with me in particular, but I thought it was very, very interesting. Especially the stuff with the chickens and marmosets and the virus.

That ulcer you have, you brought it on yourself by not meditating/doing yoga enough and by eating the wrong foods. Sinner.

Shit-stirrer.
It was a joke, but I took it back. If I still had a time machine I would retroactively unpost it.

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that while diction may be defined in part as: the choice of words used in speech or writing, it is not the same as usage, which refers to the actual meaning or definition of words.

To demonstrate: the use of "all y'all" in the quoted post is an example of the ironic use of diction to create humor by making an erudite assertion through the choice of words and dialogue not traditionally associated with erudition. The use of "diction" as a heading for the quoted post is an example of improper usage to undermine the irony inherent in the use of "country-fied" diction by demonstrating a less than perfect degree of erudition.

Carry on.

No one is asking her to conform. Everyone (and you seem to be the absolute only one who hasn't) has asked her to put some substance in her posts.

I don't know what to say, my standards must be low. It doesn't bother me. None of it bothers me.

And then you turn around and accuse people who can't believe a word out of your mouth of stirring shit? Especially when all you do is try to stir shit? Impressive virtual balls.

TM
In fairness, I don't recall that lied when blatantly questioned about a sock by you.

And here I always thought diction was only a synonym for enunciation or otherwise related to correct pronounciation. I stand corrected.

As for vapid, yeah, that is exactly what I meant when describing our "special" friend.

So maybe they did the calculation wrong, and the theory still holds.
As a long-time diabetic, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the calculations are at best semi-educated guesses. Just a variation in insulin production, resistance, and uptake can produce wild swings in the rate of calorie adsorption.

How is it substantively different my gossip/fashion posts, and your "new Halle" posts or reality tv. updates? To each his own. I've made some cool friends here but the same instigators refuse to leave me a lone.

Okay. Now you've gone from merely insipid to downright unintelligible.

No offence.

2. All I've ever asked for is that you post in sentences. I realize you're all busy and shit making more money than me as a glamorous Bergdorf-bra-wearing NYC corporate paralegal and shit. Nevertheless, I think it's reasonable of me to be irritated when your grammar is at a kindergarten level and to give you shit about it.

3. If you don't like it, you can suck it.
If I ignore you, will you go away? [how is that for a sentence?]

When my resting HR was 42 I ate 6000 calories a day. Does that help?

No, but I will cease to have any impact on you. And the first effort at sentence formation was perfect. The second, somewhat less so. The brackets were unnecessary and distracting. And the first letter of the the first word in a sentence is always capitalized. But I applaud the thought you put into the post.
