And here is something unrelated for me to whine about. Thanks to various manual labor jobs over the years involving digging and smacking a shovel into hard ground, my right hand is totally fucked up. Frequently I wake up with my right hand totally clenched in a claw-like position and today I woke up with no feeling in my right index finger. Now the feeling is back but it's fading now and then. I'm beginning to think I have serious nerve damage in that hand. Fuck.
You know what's good for that? Smashing it against someone's face in boxing class.

You make a good point. In five years I think I am just going to replace it with a hook.

In 5 years they may have the bionic thing worked out. I saw the bionic woman on the news last night - her left arm was HUGE, and her fingers weren't very dextrous, and she didn't make that dodododododo noise when she moved it - but maybe in 5 years.

I really enjoy it when he does his walking up the wall or on top of people's heads and doing all his things while he's being chased (and of course, the spectacular flying elbows) but the commercials kind of look like more of the same. Is anything added in this movie other than that helicopter scene (which looks really cool -- how much of that scene is real?). I dragged my bf to Ong-bak, which he actually really enjoyed and want to take him to this as well but it would be good if I could tell him that it's actually better than Ong-bak.
I think what Tony Jaa does is in Protector is on a par with what he does in Ong Bak. Maybe slightly better -- though that scene in Ong-bak where he runs through the streets is hard to beat -- because of some more straight fighting.

What improves it is the use of so many other really, really good fighters to the movie. There are some weird bits that they could have done without (like the fighting with elephant bones -- though it kinda worked in context), but overall I think it was better.

The helicopter scene is eh -- really not much more there than what is in the commercial.

Also -- it's not really in English. Mostly Thai, some Chinese, and a bunch of Australians. FWIW.

Lfe is so dangerous!!
Mrs. Wonk is a health and science writer and she says the same thing about sprouts.

What's the deal with sprouts? Is it any worse than broccoli? Because I cut into some broccoli from Whole Foods once that was crawling with green bugs. Green bugs you absolutely could not see until you had cut into the head.
Thousands of crawling green bugs. That did not die or wash out when immersed in water.

What to do about this shitty weather? Will it continue into the weekend? Tired and it is making me more sleepy.

It's slightly overcast, but that should burn off soon, and 65 -- maybe will hit 72ish? Don't see how anyone could have a problem with this weather.

I forgot to add, I think I love you. Too few women really, really like movies like this (though, thankfully, Mrs. Finch is one of them.)

"I have" or "I got*" are fine. "I've got" is redundant.
