I shouldn't tell you all this, but I saw Sammy Hagar last year (I don't like his music and I was at the concert mainly because of a friend who was on the tour with him, obviously this is kinda outable, so I will leave the explanation there). Although I've never been a fan, I will say that his tour has a very Buffetesque feel to it. He has Cabo Wabo fans who follow him around much like the Parrotheads and much of the music has a similar feel (other than that godawful I Can't Drive 65 song and his stupid circa 1980 plastic sunglasses, oh and did I mention the video showing him in the yellow/red jumpsuit?).

So if this set of tix is a Buffet bonus, you could use them on Hagar and continue the love...

Oh, and apropos of nothing, one would think that if one were the second best* French Canadian goalie in the NHL, one could find someone in Montreal other than one's sister in law to boink. But maybe she's really hot. I dunno.


*Well, maybe Marty is the best goalie period this season. Or maybe he's second to that French Canadian Giggy dude from Anaheim, not Patrick Roy as I think. Anyway, he may have questionable judgment, but may finally win the Vezina.

It was a baked stuffed pig's head in all its graphic glory. They carried it out like a trophy and displayed it prominently on a sideboard for the family and guests, then Sir John was complaining repeatedly how disconcerting it was to have dinner staring back at you while he was eating its cheeks, which upset the butler very much as it implied he'd done something terribly wrong (in front of company no less) and that the faith and trust his master had in him was irrevocably damaged.

p(I'd have keeled over, but as I'm a meat-eating hypocrite I would've kept my damned mouth shut about it as I fainted)j

Only caught part of the last episode.

My favorite bit was when they were showing the movies, the Upstairs folks were sitting around politely ohing and ahing at themselves, while the downstairs folks were hooting it up and making fun of themselves.

The Upstairs folks were pretty pathetic. Raj-Singh very annoying, Sir John's wife saying that she was "meant to be an Edwardian", her sister losing it when she had to say good-bye to the horses. I bet they had a harder time adjusting back to reality then the Downstairs folks.

It wasn't just the pig's head--it was mentioned a couple of times that Sir John had requested a healthier diet (less fat, more fresh fruits and vegetables) than most wealthy Edwardians would have eaten. It was hard to understand him, but in one of his confessional moments, the chef was going on about how "Sir" John had sent back a dish made with foie gras (!) saying something like, "That's brains! I don't eat brains." The only thing worse than a pompous prick who thinks he deserves to be treated like a price is a pathetic nouveau riche pompous prick who thinks he deserves to be treated like a prince.
