It's amazing how much that little vignette reminds me of my three-year old. Of course, he needs a nap or a rest, but usually won't take one. The snacks, however, he has covered.

interesting that mr. spookyfish, who is not a practicing attorney says that he feels and looks much younger while mr. violins who is says that he looks and feels much older.

more evidence that the practice of law destroys the mind, body, and spirit.

Oh, I don't know about that, ruthie. Spending 10 years in my profession doing work that the idiots I work for don't want to hurt their own heads over, while completing law school might be on par in the stress department, but you never know.

mr. spookyfish,

the best way to tell if your spirit has been partially destroyed is if you are begging people for jobs that before you entered law school that you would have found to be completely reprehensible. the way to tell if your spirit has been completely destroyed is if you start arguing that the job that you would have found to be morally reprehensible before you entered law school is in fact not only moral but anyone who opposes the goals of your clients is morally reprehensible.

the mind is usually gone by the time you reach that point. which is why there are so many zombies walking around the jones day offices muttering to themselves that representing tobacco companies to avoid paying liability to the people that they killed is moral because otherwise the tobacco companies would go out of business all of the tobacco farmers in north carolinia would be growing pot instead.

personally, i've found that having my bare bottom spanked like i was a naughty little girl helps me a lot. it makes me feel young - and feeling young is very important to making me look young and appealing. also i have a particular pychological need to be "punished" and getting spanked fulfills my needs - so it makes me feel happier and more confident when i am being spanked on a regular basis. and being happier and more confident makes me more attractive because it makes me realize that i am in fact young and appealing looking.

It never entered my mind to take your lunch, since I have heard that other attorneys in town "eat your lunch" on a regular basis (and take your milk-money, but that could be just an ugly rumor). ;)

By the way, I wasn't ignoring your Fleetwood Mac question on the FB, but considering I have sworn off commercial radio for the most part, I haven't heard it. I really wasn't ignoring you, so theres no need for the fat jokes, ok? That's just below the belt -- or maybe, above the belt.

I'll ignore the milk-money stuff cuz I'm bigger than that (and you're WAAAAAAAY bigger than that).

Go to the Fleetwood Mac website. If you have speakers, you can hear a bit of the Peacekeeper track.

hmm, where should i begin with this post?

1) you two are starting to sound like elementary school students here. but i should warn you, that although i generally am a submissive, that i have been known to take more dominate roles and give spankings to naughty boys. but only ones who fight with each other and call each other fat or old ;)

2) fleetwood mac??? talking about flletwood mac is not going to help your case that you are really under 40, sweetie. clearly you must be bringing that up solelyto get me to continue to make fun of your age so that you can spank me. well, its not going to work

any comments on this court ruling?

Court ruling gives boost to charter schools

personally although charter schools probably are consitutional, i worry about some of the groups who may be running them. it doesn't take too many "mcdonalds institute for fast food service and technology" or "klu klux klan academy" or similar such schools to give charter schools a bad name.

i thought about posting on that decision as well, but hell, i'm lazy! charter schools concern me in that parents are looking for an answer to crappy public schools and they may be buying something worse. test results for charter schools are a LOT worse than public schools right now. i guess only time will tell if they can get better. in addition, i agree that some of them are being set up by groups that don't know squat about either running a school or educating children. i know of several in the dayton area that folder after a year or so.

i see charter schools as being kind of similar to vouchers as a hidden way for people who have ideological beliefs taht there should be no public schools to destroy them. what better way than to give some religious wingnuts or large corporations money (there is actually a school in washington, dc run by the marriot corporation to train hotel and restraunt workers) to run public schools.

Not to mention the schools run by David Brennan in Akron -- a HUGE Republican Party contributor. I have read some recent studies that have shown that the quality of education is no better at charter or parochial schools for that matter, than public schools. Encouraging flight from the system is going to be no more effective a solution to improving academic performance than throwing money at them. The system is fundamentally flawed and is sadly, probably more a reflection on the lack of parental involvement in the child's education coupled with low standards and lack of effective disciplinary measures than anything else.

It's hard to have a conversation when you're the only person in the house, so to speak. People begin to think you're nuts and frankly, I'm just not all that interesting that I'd want to run that risk. So called "old" people talking to themselves is really bad form, or so I hear.

When I saw 123 posts, I actually thought there was legal news in Ohio. But, alas, it is just the three of you discussing Paul Lynde, spankings, and bar exam results. Paul Lynde from the center square was genius, but Charles Nelson Reilly was the best gameshow "celebrity" ever.

On the subject of the bar exam results, why does Ohio announce them by listing names on a web page? That seems cruel to me. In my former state, it was done by code number. The patent bar does it by code number as well. Maybe an "Ohio Bar Examiners are Cruel" is in order.

You are certainly encouraged to discuss any and all Ohio legal news on this site. In addition, I encourage you to tell any and all friends and acquaintances about LawTalkers and ask them to post on Ohio legal issues as well. The reality, however, is that it will take time to grow the local traffic and number of users for Ohio. That doesn't mean that the people who are here can't post about, well, whatever they feel like posting about.

As for the Ohio Bar Exam, I believe that Ohio treats the results as a public record, thus there is transparency in regard to the names of who passed. Prior to the internet and posting on the web, anyone could call the Ohio Supreme Court and ask whether a specific individual had passed [I believe that this option is still available, but is not used as much].

Welcome to the community, Herb:

I second what aV said. I'm sure the volume of Ohio legal news will increase as we gain more posters. Please be patient with us as, until now, it's been just us three before you showed up. Besides, Paul Lynde is from Ohio, so it's sort of relevant.

And speaking from my own perspective, if Mr. spooky fish isn't on that list next week, so help me... (well, you know what I mean). That said, there is no more sinister individual in my mind than the State of Ohio Bar Examiner.

I need not speak of my admiration for CNR as a gameshow celebrity. :P
