The Norwegian Outdoor Sex Craze Spreads

Following up on Coltrane's favorite article on the band The Cumshots, and their "Fuck for the Forests" campaign, it seems like more people are getting in on the act.

Quote:

More Norwegians seem to be engaging in sex outdoors, after a couple made headlines for coupling on the stage of a live music festival last week. On Monday afternoon another couple got into the act outside a public library, but they were clearly intoxicated.

Police in Larvik, south of Oslo, received several calls Monday afternoon from startled passersby who came upon the couple in broad daylight, just outside the public library downtown.

The couple, in their late 40s, were quickly interrupted by police officers who arrived on the scene.
"In their late 40s?" Ugh.

Though on the plus side, the band apparently attracts a wider demographic than one might think.

His race director said he needed to go ahead. In that situation, you go ahead. Of course, this is easier for me to say with the hindsight of seeing Merckx get dropped by the peloton.
That sounds like a pretty lame justification. Merckx was only about 30 seconds behind on the climb where Virenque dropped him. It doesn't seem like it would have been so hard to wait for Merckx on the descent, and if he cracked on the next climb, so be it.

The real race starts tomorrow, right?

Is there a theory out there that Lance's cancer actually physically made him a better cyclist by breaking him down and enabling him to build back up cycling-specific muscles? So his regrown muscles are more specialized than everyone else?
Did Lance get markedly better at 36? Is Lance's best friend Greg Anderson? Did Lance publicly become a spokesperson for BALCO? Also, given the intense desire by some to prove him a doper, and the fact that they have caught so many others, including Virenque and whole teams (like the Cofidis team of the rider who won today), I find it hard to believe given the best proof anyone has ever come up with is from a disgruntled maid alleging she saw a syringe in a tell-all book.

I have heard a theory that the chemo mutated him, but it was a drunken rambling by a friend of mine who knows more about Asian women's left pinkie fingernails than he does skeletal medicine, musculature, oncology, radiology or training.

That's not fair. I happen to know a lot about Asian women's left pinkie fingernails --- I was in cosmetology school before the seminary.

Bonds had 3 MVP awards by 1993, so you may need to go back quite a few more years.

That's right, he did:

I must have been thinking that was someone else. Wonder why.

Next question is this: Lance has several former teammates who are now his rivals: Heras and Hamilton among them. Wouldn't they know, considering the amount of training and living they do together as teammates (unlike Barry and his three-locker suite and separate workouts)? And, if they know, why not flip him now?

Because they're also still on the program.

To be more precise, by "markedly better" I was referring to Bonds hitting more home runs after age 36. The chart that follows shows the year, the amount of at-bats, the number of home runs, and the amount of at-bats per home run:

1986 413 16 25.8
1987 551 25 22.04
1988 538 24 22.41
1989 580 19 30.52
1990 519 33 15.72
1991 510 25 20.4
1992 473 34 13.91
1993 539 46 11.71
1994 391 37 10.56
1995 506 33 15.33
1996 517 42 12.3
1997 532 40 13.3
1998 552 37 14.92
1999 355 34 10.44
2000 480 49 9.79
2001 476 73 6.52
2002 403 46 8.76
2003 390 45 8.67

Admittedly there could be other factors such as new ballparks, Pac Bell's short line down the right (although the park is a pitcher's park and right field goes out rapidly from the line), or a juiced ball. I just think his numbers at an age when most players decline or retire also suggest that it might not be the ball that's juiced.

Michael Moore or Oliver Stone? I think the TdF is more Moore's style. Stone would go for the Piazza story.

I think we can retire BOTD for a while -- Flinty is doing the job admirably. Now we only need someone to cover for Flinty until he wakes up every day at noon, Pacific time.

And yeah, I saw them several times before Rock and Roll Lifestyle broke. Sadly, however, I failed to get the rock and roll tee-shirt, to prove I was there, that I heard of them first.
I'm kinda surprised you liked them if you heard them before they put out an album. They were a shitty live band back in the day at the Cattle Club.
