Interesting.

(For those wondering, doing a google search for Ashley Alicia brings very different results than a google search for Alicia Ashley.)

She's my trainer's sister and she could probably kill me with one punch if she tried. Unbelievable.

My trainer is a 5 time world champion kickboxer.

I have met the current world heavyweight champion, the current world welterweight champion, the world flyweight champion, and many many prospects. I spar with an old sparring partner of Duran and I am friends with Hector Roca http://newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/news...igencer/10977/

Oh, and I met Fifty Cent at my gym, although he just kind of stood around and acted tough.

I think that exhausts my celebrity athlete encounters.
An artist, Delilah Montoya, here in Houston that I absolutely love (I have this piece hanging in my living room) just published this book. The show that became the book was hanging at Project Rowhouse during Fotofest, and the photographs are pretty amazing.

Montoya's lover died right around the time that the book came out (he was killed by his own statue), so the book didn't get that much publicity here when it came out. They're relaunching the book this week. (Houston Chronicle story on the book.)

Anyhow, the book might be a good Christmas present for your trainer/sparing partner(s), if you guys exchange gifts at the end of the year.

Oh, and I just bought these gloves for my sister for her birthday. Our trainer is going to TUALIHM when he sees them.

Somewhere in an office building in America, under the relentless glow of flourescent lights, as Sarah McLaughlin's quiet voice warbles in the backround, NotBob is weeping.

That is an excellent idea, thank you.

Did I say that? I don't think I said that. Maybe you were just replying to my post because it was the last post, and you used it as a Sebastainesque jumping off point.

Oh, stop whining. You DID instigate with a snarky comment about a celebrity (which snarkiness is not necessarily out of line, by the way) and GWNC reponded sarcastically. That wasn't out of line, either. Don't take it so personally.

(Because you and I both know, in our hearts, that she wouldn't be so touchy if only she knew the joy of motherhood.)

Correct. I pulled a Sebby and quoted you for something related but tangential at best.

there are also mud wrestling picture books out there you might consider, depending on where you want the relationship to go.

Okay, okay, okay. I agree with you [gasp!] But if I aim it at a celebrity it should be taken as such. It wasn't to be taken to heart.

As for your in parens quote, you don't think motherhood brings you joy? Serious question.

Nice, Hank. Real classy. I know how uncomfortable you get when the discussion gets all highbrow. And I know that the only art-related discussion you like is when you make fun of Picasso. But if you are feeling insecure about a discussion thread, that does not mean you have to kill it with the cyber-equivalent of sticking your hand into your arm pit to emulate farting noises. Just let the thread run its course -- the board will be back talking about tits or whatever soon enough.

There is nothing as effective as motherhood in turning a charming, carefree, beautiful, willowy young woman into a bitchy, neurotic, sleep-deprived shrew with squinting eyes and extra folds of flesh.
