Ok, poll time. Favorite movie about or set on Long Island.

I'll go with Trees Lounge.

Anyone who suggests an Ed Burns movie will recieve scorn unlike any that has been heretofore witnessed. Scorn!

Just wait until Feb. 21.

AI and something else I hope I will recall by the time I get to it

My pick to win next week: The black guy from NYC named Marque. They didn't show much of him, just his first round audition, I think. But he was simply phenomenal; the best they've ever had.

Another one of my picks is the girl with shoulder-length dirty-blonde hair in a stylish-cut, who was wearing the cargo-type-pants last night who sang in the same group as the foreign-16 y.o-chick now living in Seattle. She was sassy. Final 5 for her.

This is a remarkably stupid poll.

Harumph.

And as a long-handed way of saying "I liked Trees Lounge, you all should see it," it's not particularly effective.

But, so someone can thank me for playing, I'll go with "Long Island Lolita." But feel free to substitute your preferred Joey Buttafuoco made-for-tv-movie in its place, if it will keep you from heaping scorn upon me.

Come and listen to a story 'bout a man named Jed

Any relation to the lusty couga teacher from Washington, impregnated by her 13 yo student?
god, you would hope not. But Mary Kay's married name is LeTourneau, so if a relation, only as an in-law. Ex-hubby is in Alaska, away from the publicity, so if it's his sister maybe he can load up the truck and a move to Bev-er-lee. Hills that is. Swimmin' pools, movie stars.

My childhood. Well, except for not being a movie and we moved when I was about four cause our house burned down. But it was nice while it lasted. Thanks for reminding me you fucking bastard.

My poll

Screw you guys, I'm going home. Only 9 hours until Survivor/Apprentice in these parts.

By the way, my second-choice is L.I.E.

Care to make it intresting? On the girl that is. I dont remember her so she must be unmemorable.

I pick Erskine to win next. Nice name, though Marque gets a special acknowledgment for creative spelling of a tired old name.

Marque is great from what we've seen, but he is in a tough group. I think he'll be great, but I just hope he makes it.

The OM decided that of all the people he knew were going on, his barometer was the kid in the maroon fedora. We'd seen him exactly once. Nice voice, nice manner, great ear. His name reminds me of Devante Swing -- Erskine, maybe? Anyway, he's in that group along with the super cute 16 year old and Fantasia and Jennifer (I want to say Holliday, but that cannot possibly be right).

Very imaginative. What about The Great Gatsby, Jaws, the Amityville Horror, Sabrina, Masquerade, Love and Death on Long Island, Sweet Liberty, and of course, Growing Pains?! What about the Seinfeld episode where they got stuck at that house on LI and Kramer drove the LIE with the windows open in freezing weather?

ETA that the aforementioned Hal Hartley made a film abou this LI childhood called the Unbelievable Truth. I haven't seen it but perhaps the Hartley fans have.

Everybody Loves Raymond (gack).
