Six feet tall! Whoa! Fortunately people six feet tall are pretty rare. I once met a guy who was 6' 3"! Poor guy, everyone was staring at him! |

Too bad that doesn't work with you tall guys.;) Then again, I can get wiggle my way through the crowd leaving in about 2 seconds while all the tall people are still stuck back in the aisles. |

Leg Lengthening
Speaking of being tall, I read in a magazine (Marie Claire with XTina on the cover?) about the new trend in China of leg lengthening (by breaking the bones and drilling holes to stimulate recalcification while pulling apart the broken pieces to add length). You've probably heard of people with deformed limbs (like severely uneven legs) undergoing this surgery to lengthen the leg bones and add height in extreme circumstances, but this article was saying it is looked at as about the same as getting a boob job.
In China, the article explained, taller people are considered more beautiful and powerful, and many jobs (including government jobs) have height requirements. One of the profiled women was undergoing the very painful surgery to land a job as a flight attendant. She hoped to gain four inches, which would make her 5'3". The procedure has improved so that people no longer must lay in bed for the year and a half plus it takes for the bones to regenerate and solidify in order to bear the weight of the body. Yikes. |
Movie recommendations?
I thought pretty much all movie theaters had stadium seating now. I love going to the movies, but except for kiddie films, we see only maybe two or three a year (which is why I'm so disappointed I wasted a night out on Chicago). Tix, popcorn, a modest dinner and a sitter add up.
Last movie--Agent Cody Banks. Next movie--What a Girls Wants. Oh, and whyizzit that considering we hardly ever see a new movie, we can never find anything we want to rent? |
