Yeah, I saw those for sale in the fan memorabilia stands at the stadium. I thought it was part of the standard fan package, together with the green helmets.

So Lou is in the blue unitard and Hulk Hogan is wearing the red one? Am I right?

Try petswelcome.com and petsonthego.com. Mobile used to put a book out listing pet friendly establishments.

Also, there are about a hundred books that list places to go with your pet. And Motel 6 always allows pets.

In my years of road tripping with the Displaced Dog, I found out that it is the official policy of Motel 6 to accept pets. The only reason they wouldn't is if the policy conflicts with city ordinance. I think they won't let you have more than two, though.

If you're looking for something less basic than a Motel 6, I'd head to your local book store and "browse" The Dog Lovers' Companion (spree/disclosure: travel book website/ relative works for the publishing company, and I've used their Dog Lover's Companion to the Bay Area with fairly good success). I think that there are a fair number of pet traveling websites out there, as well.

Incidently, a friend was looking for a hotel in Paris, and he noted that almost all of the hotels in that city would accept dogs. The same couldn't be said for kids.

ETA: I have reason to believe that Woodland Hills, California city ordinance doesn't allow pets in hotels. The Displaced Dog once had to spend a night in a parking lot there. I dont' think either one of us slept that night.

Now you know how John Kerry must feel. Poor bastard.

Motel 6 is roughly like the Four Seasons, right?

ETA I'm specifically looking for cat-friendly, not really dog-friendly.

Edited again to say thanks to all y'all.

Yeah, close. They both leave the light on for you, it's just that one is made by Tiffany and the other is a bugzapper.

I'm rich. Free is no attraction. Nice room service breakfast is an attraction.

This reminds me... most Four Seasons will allow you to bring your pet. Just call and ask for the manager.

Cats are, I think, much easier than dogs. I would just call the place you want to stay and ask them if they'd accomodate you and your pussy.

HDTV's unforgiving clarity

Chicago Tribune Article: http://www.chicagotribune.com/busine...omepagebiz-utl

The following celebrities were compared on an analog TV vs. an HDTV. According to television industry analyst Phillip Swann, president and publisher of TVpredictions.com:

Britney Spears: "She's clearly not taking care of herself. Her skin looks a little rough, with bumps and sagging at her age [22], which is remarkable. On analog TV, those things are smoothed out -- she looks like she does on videos. On HD, she's wearing makeup but it's not doing the job. She looks 10 years older than her years."

Cameron Diaz: "Acne has been a problem since high school and she doesn't try to hide it. In analog, it's not apparent. But in HDTV she looks like a different person. She has terrible scarring on her face. She would never be on People's most-beautiful list. She's simply not a beautiful woman. She's not unattractive, just less attractive."

George Clooney: "Guys will want to send him to hell -- he's a good-looking guy who looks even better in HD."

Julia Roberts: "She's showing her age [36]. It's clear in HDTV that she doesn't have a lot of freshness in her face. You can see the age lines. She's still cute and pretty, but she's starting to show her age."

Catherine Zeta-Jones: "Just as vibrant. She looks even better."

Anna Kournikova: "People would leave their wives and families and follow her across the globe if they could see her in HDTV."

Maria Sharapova: "Very pretty. Being 17, HD favors the young. She has beautiful skin, as cute as can be."

John Kerry: "During his Democratic nomination speech, his face looked odd, a little uneven. There are reports that he's had Botox injections. I'm no doctor, but it looks uneven. In the eyes and forehead, he looks 40 to 45 years old. The rest of his face obeys Mother Nature." (Equal time: Swann hasn't seen President Bush yet in HDTV.)

Sting: "I don't know how he does it. He's 50, but he looks like he's 30. He looks great. He's into yoga, so he must be taking care of himself."

Halle Berry: "Beautiful, as juicy as it gets. In HD, she's even better."

Charlize Theron: "At the Oscars, her skin was glowing. Whoever did her makeup for `Monster' deserves an Oscar for best makeup."

Beyonce Knowles: "Twenty-two years old, gorgeous, beautiful skin, incredible."

Ray Liotta: "Not HD-friendly. He looks in HD the way he looks in person. Not too great."

It must be nice to make a living making snarky comments about how celebrities look. If only we all had planned better!

What does Phillip Swann look like, and would HDTV be kind to him?

ETA: You be the judge. (I think the black and white photo is a dead giveaway: HDTV would eat him alive.)
