The other Pistons, of course. They play as a team.

This is nutty:
  • The Republican National Committee, hit by a grass-roots donors' rebellion over President Bush's immigration policy, has fired all 65 of its telephone solicitors, Ralph Z. Hallow will report Friday in The Washington Times.

Faced with an estimated 40 percent fall-off in small-donor contributions and aging phone-bank equipment that the RNC said would cost too much to update, Anne Hathaway, the committee's chief of staff, summoned the solicitations staff last week and told them they were out of work, effective immediately, the fired staffers told The Times.

Good Press

This: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/01/us...gewanted=print

links to a NYT story on Obama and pick up b-ball. Great press and a fun read. I especially like the comparisons between the BS sports played by former Presidents and hopefulls (sailing, wind surfing, etc.) and this.

I like the synecdoche here:
  • Mr. Robinson, now the coach of Brown University’s men’s team, said the 6-foot-2 senator is too skinny to be an imposing presence, but he is fast, with good wind even when he was a smoker. Mr. Obama is left-handed, and his signature move is to fake right and veer left, surprising players used to guarding right-handed competitors.

Me too.

I suppose that depends on the photo. I don't think pictures of WTC jumpers are inappropriate -- though a shot after they landed would probably be a bit too graphic for this Board. I don't think I ever saw the Beslan pictures -- were they graphic?

Those weren't Beslan pictures. Which I point out only to note that calling yourself fair and balanced seems to mean that you get shit wrong. Oh the humanity!

someone deleted diane's Beslan pix, but I seem to remember it wasn't Ty. they were disturbing, because they were of scared shitless little kids, but they weren't graphic (post take over, pre killing starting).
