That's not guts; it's Ultimate.

While Ultimate can fairly be called hippie/crunchy/effete (what with its no referee/spirit of the game ethos), guts is nothing if not muy muy macho.

Guts: Two teams of five, 10 yards apart, spaced apart at arms-length. Guy on team A takes a running start from behind his line, and wings the disc as hard as he can at the other team. I forget if you get a point for a catch, or a point if you cause the other team to miss a fair (not too high, not in the ground) throw, but either way, it's a very very very difficult and painful game to play.

Yeah, I liked it. Was it the best episode ever? Definitely not. The "sad" part was leaving that apartment, I guess -- the home base of operations lo these many years. I guess I'd have to say the best sitcom finale was Mary Tyler Moore -- that was pretty freakin' funny (I know I automatically qualify as a geriatric for even admitting I was alive when that finale aired, but there you have it.)

Since you're old and all that, the Dick Van Dyke show is having a show this Tuesday. It's not your typical retrospective where they all sit around and talk about how the show was, but it's an actual story line. Alan Brady wants Rob Petrie and Sally to write his eulogy. MTM of course is there.

Vermont-based. He woke up in bed with Maryanne Pleshette (spelling wrong I'm sure) and the entire new series was just a dream. Great surprise ending.

I think everyone's talking about the Vermont-based Newhart which ended with Bob in bed with Susanne Pleshett in their old apartment in Chicago and it was all a dream.
