Nope, they just kept building NYC and let it get bigger. No reason to form a new "government", 'cept to have new laws (e.g., no donkeys or subsidized or dense housing allowed). Not to mention, the blacks wanted to move North long before NYC was filled up with Jews, Italians and Chinese. Strange how everybody wanted a big back yard as soon as they showed up though. Well, that and when the liberals and scared whites started concentrating the subsidized people near downtowns and paying them to sit on their asses (again, not talking about Balt's grandma) just so long as they didn't come out to the burbs. eta: not that liberals and scared whites are necessarily mutually exclusive or anything. |
Wonkette is still low-profile enough that I'd imagine most politicos don't recognize her.
Given this, she may be able to step into Ali G's shoes once Government officials see the cameras, recognize his glasses and skullcap, and run for the hills. As one example, here's Wonkette with Zell at the Reagan Awards Gala. Zell is unfamiliar enough with Wonkette to pose for this photo, and she almost got him to say the words "ass-fucking." Unfortunately, based on her facial expression, I think she needs to learn to sell it better. http://www.wonkette.com/images/you%2...ands%20are.jpg |

Must be all the air brushing of her other photos. |

I happened to grow up in a secluded area because my folks wanted to get the fuck away from neighbors - all neighbors, regardless of color or ethnicity. Its nice to have privacy. You're really reading into this waaaay too much. |

A lot of people - myself included - get tired of the city. In olden days, such people moved to the country (later called the suburbs). As they did, roads and sewer systems followed, and suburban towns cropped up. Then, much later, in some cities, in an entirely different phenomenon, some people ran from cities which were on the decline, like Philly and Detroit. This was called "white flight". In response, the suburbs grew. Sure, some people ran out of fear and hatred, but some people just like the fucking space. I'd say its a 85/15 ration in favor of space over fear and hatred. ETA... And one more thing... I'd take the position that for a lot of us, its not a natural thing to live in a city you're whole life. There's a reason people retire outside cities - its easier living. My grandparents left NYC because they wanted to get some serious land, not because they wer afraid of immigrants, blacks, jews, indians, whatever... Fuck, they were immigrants! |
