W's Brain
Because it's so dead over here I've decided to give you all a game to play while waiting for the election results, which, if Shifty's right, could take months.

For Fringey
I'm sorry Fringe, I tried. I really tried. There is only 1 news story today. Well that, and the rain.
Did you play the W brain game above? I think you'll like it. I got 2 brains in the empty head. But, in case you're interested...Rice wants to play vs. 49ers KIRKLAND — It had been shaping up to be the week of Jerry Rice's return to the Bay, the first time he was to go back to where he spent 19-plus NFL seasons, the first time the Seahawks wide receiver would play a road game for a team outside of Oakland and San Francisco. Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said Rice wants to play. "He's revered in the Bay Area and rightfully so," Holmgren said. "I sure hope he can play." [Me too] |
Actual fashion post

[tips on office dress codes & flexible work attire. Note: annoying but quiet background music.] Not too bad, though I have the following comments: (i) the notion that Chanel designed with the working woman in mind is hilarious, though the consciously casual "sportswear" style she pioneered is in fact a great model for modern American work-wear. (ii) she seems to downplay the scope of permissible "self expression" (otherwise known as actual style) more than I would, but her actual descriptions of how this might be exercised seem about on track, or even more out-there than I might consider (silver mary-janes?). (iii) pretty much no one should ever, ever, ever pack Capris. Or wear them. That entry should read "wide legged trousers." (iv) in my "capsule" travel pack, I'd probably go with dark gray as my neutral rather than black, just because gray works with more colors than black does (such as navy or even brown). BR(oh, and, random observation, but maybe someone can explain to me why the new deodorant I bought smells like tutti-frutti when the scent is called "Glacier Mist" - this is why I hate it when the drug store runs out of unscented stuff)C |

JERRY: What? So what? It's a nipple. A little round circular protuberance. What's the big deal? See everybody's got them. See I got them. KRAMER: I got them too. JERRY: Everybody's got them. |
RT??????
Someone is spreading rumors that Paris Hilton has a girlfriend. The rumor spreader? Paris Hilton herself.
The partying heiress was at a Halloween party at the Playboy mansion on Saturday when a female fan came up and asked Hilton if she could kiss her. “Paris pointed to a girl with her and said, ‘This is my girlfriend she gets really mad,’” says our source. The source says that while Paris was clearly using her “girlfriend” to deflect the overly zealous fan, the two were cozy for much of the evening. “Paris wouldn’t let go of the girl and the girl kept answering for Paris all night when people approached them,” says the insider. “Paris kept her arms around her at the bar in between chain-smoking.” RT is this you? Either one of them? http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/msnbc/Co...2p.vmedium.jpg |
Things That Make Me Want to Hurl
The current US Weekly has Ben Assfleck and Jennifer Garner on the cover with a question: Are they engaged?
I never thought she could do anything to remove herself from my personal all-time laminated list (dating Michael Vartan wasn't a problem, for example), but getting engaged to Affleck just might do it. That's a crime against humanity. Ugh. Sincerely, IJTUAOTFP |

More importantly, does anyone have a good recipe for streusel to go on top of a fruit pie? I do not like dry, floury streusel. I like streusel that melts into the pie somewhat and maybe carmelizes a bit on top. Mmmmm, pie. |

I don't use a recipe, just make it up as I go along, but ground walnuts, butter and brown sugar are key, a little bit of flour, the "warm" spices (nutmeg, cloves, etc.), and maybe some rolled oats or some other nuts, depending on the fruit being used. I recommend making it in a large bowl and having two people each smearing lots of butter together. You never know what could happen. |
