These names make your basic black name sound like Jane or John (from the site):

"In a class of their own (In fact, I'm not sure I believe these but we asked for details and a confirmation - especially for the sexual ones - and got convincing replies, so here they are): DeVerle (the father) and VerleDe (the son), DuWhitVandeeOn, LaVeDrienne, NaLa'DeLuhRay, Phakelikaydenicia, Zaragrunudgeyon ("Zarg" for short), Jennyfivetina, Tiarrhea, Nudity, VulvaMae, DaLinda LaDale, Tugdick, Saunsceneyouray, and, yes... When did the two-middle-names approach come into vogue? It's almost to the point where they need multiple lines on teh birth announcement for the baby alone.
Legally I have only one middle name, but as far as the Roman Catholic Church is concerned, I have a second middle name that was given to me when I was confirmed at 12.

A. I would only add to this that I disagree -- She looks positively frightening when she sings. Kind of wild-eyed and crazy.

Best line of the night -- When the voice coach told her she needs to cut down on the "gospel jaw". Fucking hilarious.

And, what the hell was with the pink toga? She looked like a wrestler in drag.

B. Very nice work.

You think Simon picks Matthew? That sounds more like a Paula pick to me. If George doesn't get America's vote (which he will), Paula would pick him instead.

I'm thinking Simon goes with either the first of the Barbie twins or the first black girl who sang. (Sorry, but remembering names isn't my strong suit, unless it's something cool like Semaj).
Yes, the pink dress sucked. Made her look pregnant. Designed by a guy named GeorgeIdon'tknowhislastname. He'll not have a career in fashion design.

But you're all wrong about the picks. George gets America's vote. Unless a bunch of guys voted this week, then Katie Webber is America's choice. Simon picks Suzy Vulaca (pronounce Voo lah tha) Randy picks Jennifer pink-dress-monstrosity Hudson and Paula is a wild card. She'll pick George if Katie is voted or if George is voted, then she'll go for Leah or Mathew.

Only recently have we begun to see Churchill Raliegh Goldstein, Brittany Elsworth Pivonski, Eleridge Carrington Garopoloulos, etc... jumping rope in the cul de sac.
um, right. forgot, you are the expert. all those middle class, not-part-of-famous (even just in the area) people I've met who are way older than I am who have the last names as first names are just figments of my fuckign imagination. Gotta get those anti-psychotics and put an end to this!

Because you're obviously tone deaf to subtlety, I'll translate...

There have been in recent years many people using English-sounding last names as the first names of their children and, although I didn't say it, I agree, this phenomenon tends to be among a certain upwardly mobile sector of society (The sort who love cul de sacs and huge houses with brick faces and paneled sides). My description does NOT include people who have taken old family names, since, due to the fact that I have NOT been in a cave on Mars for the last three decades, I realize lots of people from all sectors of society follow that old rule, including members of my own goddamned family.

Now, take a Midol, masturbate, catch a lunchtime quicky, have a manhattan at lunch... do whatever you need to do, but get yourself chilled before you reply.

80's making a comeback

I know many of you hate what this article is calling "new wave" but I liked Simon LeBon and the Duran Duran videos and Everybody wants to rule the world. Maybe Big Hair will make a comeback.

'80s bands poised for another 'New Wave'
Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, Pixies reunite to make music again.

Take a cold shower. I was referring to the southern thing, not some bullshit upwardly mobile thing, though I can understand that that's what you'd be most familiar with.

I don't think Midol does anything for the psychological stuff, and, in any case, I only just finished about 5 days ago so I can't be PMSing.

Actually, I think we mostly agree. You may want to read my post again. Suzy was actually the one I was thinking of when I was talking about the alternative to a possible Simon's barbie-twin pick. I thought she was black -- (she was certainly cafe-au-lait, but I digress -- I wasn't paying attention that closely.) She's frankly a better choice than the other two.

I also said America would pick George, meaning Paula probably goes for Matthew, but that if George wasn't chosen by America for some reason, she'd definitely take him.

No argument that Randy picks Jennifer H.

And one of the first names listed: Anfernee. I had no idea little penny was Mormon.

Love to hear more from you in an hour or so after you've given the Viagra time to take hold, Bob. Please aim for your open mouth and then post a picture. Really.

You all are forgetting tht Simon is a greedy businessman. He picks Matthew bc there are no hot white guys (assuming John Stevens isnt). Are there any hot white chicks in the group? If not I might rethink and pick one of the two chicks who look exactly the same.
