Perhaps "cult" means did crappy at the box office and kicked ass on home video/ dvd. Once they release the issue, I'll fill in the gaps. |

I would not put Scarface and Shawshank in the cult category, I think of them as mainstream movies. I nominate Office Space, Raising Arizona, and Dr. Strangelove to the list. |
Etiquette Rules Pole
Here's a law-related etiquette question - when plagiarizing counsel for co-respondent's pleading isn't it proper to call counsel for co-respondent and ask permission first?
This has happened to me three times: the first time, the person called and asked and of course, I said ok. Second time, I was not asked in advance but received an unsolicited, "um I hope that was okay" the first time that I ran into em. Today, I receive a pleading from someone I had never previously spoken with that began "caption . . my entire pleading word for word (even forgot to switch out em's client's name for mine in a few places) ... signature." I called em - not to complain but to alert em to the pretrial conference as em's pleading was filed three weeks after the return date so em was not listed in the order. I began with, "you may not know that a pretrial conference has been scheduled" and was cut off with an abrupt, "I'm sure that the court will send notice. I'll get back to you later." end of call, so that I did not get to finish the sentence which would have been, "at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning and each attorney has been ordered to bring a detailed trial memo outlining the entire case..." Tomorrow should be interesting. I wonder if the Judge will send the sheriff after em. |

if you like Harold and Maude, you will probably like Pumpkin with Christina Ricci. the same "love that society objects to as very wrong" storyline, but no implied sex with Ruth Gordon.

WTF
From the WTF file:
ATHENS, Greece - A 30-year-old man forced his eyes out their sockets to protest his arrest at Athens International Airport, authorities said Tuesday. Remi Tsolakis was taken to a hospital and received surgery to try and restore his eyesight, doctors said. Tsolakis was arrested late Monday after flying to Athens from the island of Rhodes. Airport authorities discovered he had an outstanding three-month jail sentence for a minor offence. He told police he did not have enough money to pay a fine in lieu of the sentence and would have to go to jail. Police gave no details of the offense. From FuFu: and this seemed s good idea because...? |
