I'd like to have been in the meeting where some ABC executive said, "Let's fire all of the attractive people and have a show about schlubby lawyers." That'll get the ratings back. They've fundamentally misunderstood why Law & Order can replace their cast: that show focuses on the crime and the trial. That's it. The cops could be any two New York cops. The prosecutor could be any battle-hardened DA. The focus is on the plot, the twist, and the writing. This move by ABC makes cast changes to Three's Company and Charlie's Angels look inspired.

Paigow, I was the one who recommended The Woman Chaser. Here's the imdb.org link. Perhaps it's not available on home video. They might have just sold it to Cinemax or HBO. Sometimes that happens.

A Clockwork Orange should also get cult status because it initially got an X rating here in America and wasn't screened in England until after Kubrick's death.

I saw O Brother Where Art Thou? in a theatre and thought it was just OK. I like it more on repeated viewings. With digital cable it was playing every weekend for a while back there.

I hope no one thinks that Blood Simple is the Coen brothers' worst film. I enjoyed it very much.

Slave, I hope Dude, Where's My Car? was your joke selection for cult film. That film made four times its budget. A lot of people saw that in theatres. Although I do think that naming the sequel, Seriously Dude, Where's My Car? was clever.

Regarding the Yale bombing (nice transition, eh?), as the explosion was in the mailroom, I would suspect rejected applicants before Islamic terrorists. Glad there were no injuries.

That's exactly what I said, but after hearing it from y'all via IM and from the OM, I should add that I was very young when I saw it initially (1984), and I may have failed to appreciate it properly.

Just for the record, I am very partial to Lenny. He's the rock of that show. If they replaced him I would be upset. The rest of them I don't care about.

Plus, if no one has claimed credit for it by now, it can't be a terrorist can it? And would anyone copy the unabomber? I mean come on - be original.

Reuben, has the better (and more commercial) voice. Clay will probably have his 15 minutes of fame and will play out his days in musicals. I see Reuben as have the more substantial career.
