You're kidding, right? Snow and Chaffee can be counted on to do as much as they've done for the last few years, no more, no less. And Bush doesn't need to put lunatics on the Court -- he just needs to replace Stevens and O'Connor with a pair of justices who will reliably vote with Rehnquist, Scalia and Thomas.
He needs to replace people like Rehnquist and O'Connor with judges who vote like....Rehnquist and O'Connor.

I imagine that Ginsburg's health should be of more concern.

I almost want Bush in just so that we can get this battle with the social conservatives over with. As long as we have these dim fucking waterheads out there manipulating policy, there will always be a sort of domestic cultural cold war. Lets bring it to a boil and smoke out the moderates. Lets make the people who believe in fiscal restraint and social liberalism stand up and admit it. I want the middle to stand up and tell these Jesus Freaks to shut the fuck up, and that won't happen in a Kerry presidency. We need the Vietnam protests again and all the other 60s upheaval to flip back the social conservativism.
You know, when the US populace is against gay marriage some 60% - 40% and most of the country identifies with some major religion, its really disingenuous to pin everything on "Jesus freaks."

You ever stop to think that WE are the minority in this country?

The first nominee by GWB will be a hispanic. I don't know how conservative he or she (but likely a he) will be, but I do know it will be a hispanic.

Apropos of nothing, did you see the new Victoria's Secret ads using Monkey Man? Has Sir Jagger no shame?
Fuck, I gotta check that shit out. Tell me they have that naughty little Latin twist in there shaking her perfect moneymaker. God, if I could have just twenty minutes with her, I could die immediately thereafter feeling like life was worth it. If they played Monkeyman during those 20 min... hell, that'd be better than that "72 virgins" fantasy those Allah-whipped screwheads are chasing.

Jagger probably got more than money for licensing that tune, which is pretty gross.

Wasn't a majority of the US populace against desegregation?

Remember that episode of the Simpsons, in which Lisa joins Mensa? While there, she spends her time interacting with such geniuses as Dr. Hibbert, Professor Frink and the Comic Book Store Guy. By a twist of fate, the members of Mensa become the leaders of Springfield and try to remake the town in their geeky likeness. But the geniuses can't agree on anything and begin squabbling amongst themselves. It's up to the ultimate genius, Stephen Hawking, to intervene and set the smarty-pants straight.

We need to become the leaders of Springfield and take control out of the stupid majority's hands. Can I be Dr. Hibbard? A-hehehehehe....

Yes, and just think how much better this country would be if those bastards had never imposed a minority view on the country.

Really, I think every issue should be decided by referendum. Fuck Congress.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics.

People like you and I aren't home watching Everbody Loves Raymond when the pollsters call. I don't answer their questions Shit, I don't even have a land line.

The polls lie, and the messenger usually has an agenda. I don't read anything with a pie graph in it anymore. The imbeciles who do the polling never ask the variable questions such as "Are you against gay marriage BUT favor giving gay couples all the rights as hetero couples, just not allowing them to use the term 'marriage'?" Of course they don't ask that sort of question. What you've read is that 60% of people don't favor "gay marriage" - it does not say that 60% of people are social conservatives, even if assholes working for right wing social conservatives spin it that way. Its all a manipulative game of semantics. We should shoot all the pollsters at dawn.

Wasn't everyone against MTV after "Video Killed the Radio Star"?

It wasn't until "Billy Jean" that it was truly accepted.

1 if you know the Dr's name or the Professor's name you are far too geeky to lead.
2 I have a bet with SS on whether you have been asked to be in Mensa. Next meeting we'll check if you PM us your real name.

sorry, that's just not true.
google results for "gay rights inititives" and report back. Only the most accepting of cities would consider putting this on the ballot, but they regularly go down in flames 60-40 in cities thought to be progressive- of course my own humble burg passed one 70-30.

No, thats what some vehement minority TELLS you the populace thinks. Unless you can talk to the populous in total or develop a poll including every conceivable variable, the poll is flawed.

Also, if these fucks must pollute the electorate with polls, there should be a law that each and every question asked must be reprinted in the media in exactly the same way it was written or asked in the poll. This will block the Jesus Contingent from asserting "We are a nation based on Christian values!"based on a poll where 70% of people answered yes to the question "Do you agree that the majority of the founding fathers were Christian?"
