The President of Pixar and I share the same Annual Spa Vacation (tm). (I and my mother (who comes on vacation with me some times) had no idea who he was). So we were all at dinner one night and meeting each other and the conversation came around to what we did and my mother asked him what he did and he said that he had an animation company (didn't say which one, so we just assumed he was some shmo). My mother knows nothing about animation and couldn't care less so she feigned interest in that for about half a second before regaling him with stories about her post-retirement career as a substitute teacher.
I was more polite (of course) and asked this little man what his little animation company was doing. And he said they were thinking about doing something with over-the-hill superheros.
So I had the inside scoop on this new movie and didn't even know it!!! Plus I didn't get to tell him how much I like Finding Nemo etc. But he probably gets that way too much anyway so I won't do it even when I see him on my next vacation. |
